Just before dawn.
The door to Room 405 slowly opened a crack.
Luo Yi watched for a while from behind the door, then turned and nodded to Zhen Jianren behind him.
Then he opened the door just wide enough for one person to slip through.
The two of them crept out, one after the other.
Not a sound escaped them.
The area around them was silent, as though the people in Rooms 404 and 406 were still asleep.
Luo Yi glanced toward the end of the hallway.
The first rays of dawn had yet to reach them. A faint darkness hung all around, as if they were looking through a layer of fog.
An unsettling smell lingered in the air.
Just as Zhen Jianren turned to close the door, something caught his eye. He furrowed his brow in confusion, then slowly leaned closer.
The next second, he froze. Cold sweat instantly soaked his back.
A handprint remained on the door.
The bright red blood had yet to dry, gleaming with an eerie sheen. It was horrifying to look at.
It was a bloody handprint!
Even more terrifying, the fingers were slender, yet twice as long as a normal person's!!
Luo Yi had noticed the handprint too. He trembled violently, eyes bulging. He couldn't tell whether he was unable to speak or had lost the courage to.
It was hard to imagine that not long ago, such a horrifying creature had stood silently outside the door.
It might even have tried to push its way inside.
