"Besides your friend, did anyone else see it?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"I... I don't think so." The Bald Man didn't even know why he was telling Jiang Cheng all this. He'd originally planned to take it to his grave. "I mean, my friend told me he was the only one alive at the scene. If he'd... if he'd shown up on time too, then I'm afraid..." He trailed off.
Jiang Cheng nodded, understanding what he meant. If his friend had shown up on time too, there probably wouldn't have been any survivors.
His friend would have been hanged in the church as well, becoming one of the many corpses.
After confirming the Bald Man had no more information he needed, Jiang Cheng decided to leave.
Before he left, he reminded the Bald Man that he'd better take everything they'd discussed that day to his grave and not tell anyone else, or it would bring trouble.
"Of course." The Bald Man nodded nervously, stood up, and saw him out. "Brother Jiang, things have been looking a little off lately. You should be careful too."
He had just opened the door and barely taken a few steps when he saw the Fatty and Huai Yi standing around the corner, staring at him with aggrieved looks, their faces full of stories.
As soon as Jiang Cheng came out, the Fatty hurried after him, chattering away. "Doctor, you've really done me dirty. Come on, explain to me what the hell Group B is."
"When Brother Huai Yi and I opened the door, we were completely stunned. There were three grown men sitting on the sofa inside!"
"No. 16 was half a head taller than Brother Huai Yi, and No. 18 was even bigger than me. But No. 38 was the worst of the lot!"
