"What's wrong?" Zi Gui noticed the fat man had stopped and turned to look at him.
By then, they had already left the area where the snowmen were.
There weren't as many snowmen as they'd imagined. They'd been walking along, and then, at some point, they'd suddenly emerged from the formation. They'd thought it would take them longer.
And to everyone's surprise, they hadn't run into any trouble.
The four of them had made it safely out of the snowman formation.
After a few seconds, the fat man finally said in a low voice, "It's nothing. I just suddenly felt a little uneasy."
"Let's hurry up and get out of here. Those snowmen were terrifying." Before the fat man or Zi Gui could say anything, Han Juanjuan cut in. His backpack on his shoulders, he looked shaken.
"Right, that makes sense. We—we should get moving." With the Saintess's Tomb so close, Shang Zuo didn't want to invite trouble. He immediately urged them on.
"Mister Wang, let's make haste." Zi Gui tugged at the fat man.
"Mm." The fat man looked away.
They continued toward the mountaintop. It was already growing dark, and no one noticed how lightly Han Juanjuan walked at the rear, as if he had no weight at all. Only three sets of footprints marked the snow.
As they walked, Zi Gui moved closer to the fat man almost imperceptibly. When Shang Zuo wasn't paying attention, she asked in a low voice, "Mister Wang, did you notice anything strange in the snowman formation?"
The fat man's expression shifted slightly. "You felt it too?"
"Mm." Zi Gui kept walking, but lowered her voice further. "It seemed like some of the snowmen had the faces of people we knew, but I couldn't be sure."
A moment later, she added, "Mister
