I stared at Officer Tom's corpse, unable to calm down for a long time.
An indescribable sense of guilt slowly crept into my heart. That inexplicable cramping pain struck again, clutching not only the left side of my body but also squeezing my stomach tight.
I threw up all over the floor, emptying my stomach of the liquor and its contents. The sour stench coming from my mouth and nose only strengthened my certainty that my body and mind had floored the gas and were speeding in an unpredictable direction. I had no idea what was happening to me.
Why?
Why had I suddenly picked up the gun?
Why had I become so cruel?
In an instant, I'd lost all reason—
