Horizonyi③ · This Is Life
[Part 1 · Enjoying Life]
All right! That's it, then! It's all over!
The story had gone from a simple family vacation horror movie to a no-suspense, feel-good comedy for the whole family.
Of course, by now, you knew who "he"—the "husband," the "male lead" of this story—was.
He was Bai Zhenzhen, Jiang Xueming's third child, and a geologist employed by the Arcane Library.
We no longer had to keep up the strange air of mystery by referring to this third child in the third person. He said he couldn't see ghosts, and that was true.
Bai Zhenzhen was twenty-eight. He'd occasionally shown some psychic potential as a child, but as he grew up, that gift drifted farther and farther away until it gradually disappeared.
He really couldn't see spirits. Every dirty come-on Jinny the ghost doll whispered to him, every shout of love and lust, fell on deaf ears. It was all in vain.
In some ways, he was just like his father: completely oblivious, with the mind of a dog and no self-awareness whatsoever.
Like how the Gunsmith had no idea how good-looking he was, or how he often underestimated his own strength.
Bai Zhenzhen was the same. Whatever he couldn't see might as well not exist. This knack for stumbling into danger and coming out unscathed often served him well on caving expeditions, protecting him throughout his career.
And what about his father? The Gunsmith, whose list of titles could pad out an entire chapter all on its own?
