Inside a high-rise building, a man in a black trench coat lay by the window, staring through binoculars at a small house a thousand meters away.
A burly man in black was also sitting on a battered chair inside the room.
They were both Muggles assigned to watch Ivanov. Besides them, several colleagues were keeping watch in secret near that small house.
The door to the room was suddenly pushed open, and two people entered from outside. One was a Wizard with a metal eye, while the other was a young Wizard in gray robes.
"How long has Ivanov been inside?" the metal-eyed Wizard asked.
The burly man in black sitting in the battered chair glanced at the metal-eyed Wizard. When his gaze swept over that horrifying half of his face, a trace of barely perceptible disgust flashed through his eyes. "A day. He hasn't come out. Have you settled things on your end?"
The gray-robed Wizard nodded. "We've locked all those technicians in Base 7."
The burly man in black frowned. "Base 7 of the Countermeasures Bureau's Technology Department? Those technicians aren't materials that can be casually expended."
The gray-robed Wizard shrugged. "It was the nearest base. Don't worry, we explained it to them. They're only being held there temporarily."
The burly man in black said, "I hope so."
He did not think that group of insane researchers would be so obedient. Since being transferred here, those researchers had become increasingly unrestrained.
But that was none of his business. His task was merely to capture these people; any losses incurred afterward had nothing to do with him.
They were lying in wait here to wait for Ivanov to contact his daughter voluntarily.
After seeing Ivanov meet with his colleagues, the two Wizards had gone to search those people's memories.
