After Li Bufan landed, the sight before him made him hold his breath slightly.
He found himself standing in a strange world divided between gold and silver. Half the ground beneath his feet flowed with warm golden radiance, as though it had been paved with gold melted by the blazing sun.
The other half glimmered with cool silver light, like liquid mercury condensed from moonlight slowly flowing.
The two radiances merged at the central boundary without mixing or repelling each other, forming a strange dividing line like the meeting of dawn and dusk.
Directly above that boundary, two enormous figures slowly circled.
One was a crimson dragon, its entire body covered in lava-like scarlet scales. Every scale reflected dazzling brilliance beneath the golden light.
Its body was long and winding as it slowly swam through the golden sky. Its dragon head was held high, its whiskers drifted in the air, and its pair of golden dragon eyes contained an aura as blazing and majestic as the sun.
The other was a silver phoenix, its body covered in silver-white feathers as though condensed from moonlight. Fine streams of silver light shimmered along the edge of every feather.
Its form was elegant and outstretched as it lightly circled through the silver sky. Its phoenix head dipped slightly, its tail trailed behind it like tassels, and its silver phoenix eyes carried the gentle warmth of a clear moon.
The Red Dragon and Silver Phoenix slowly circled through this world woven from gold and silver like guardians. Their paths were precise and unchanging, as though they had revolved within this space for countless ages.
The instant Li Bufan appeared in this world, both enormous figures halted at once. Dragon eyes and phoenix eyes turned toward him simultaneously, their gazes carrying concentrated scrutiny.
Then, the
