This is the first volume of the book.
It's also the first story I've written while trying my hand at this kind of novel.
I don't know what everyone thought of it.
But personally, I'm quite satisfied.
Because writing this kind of story makes me feel like I'm writing a novel, rather than padding out the word count just to make money.
The beginning and ending of the story echo each other.
Every bit of foreshadowing I planted was resolved in the end. I think I managed not to leave anything hanging.
Shi Ji's big butt corresponded to his ability.
The missing corpses and Fang Zhi and Wen Chao's conversation at the beginning foreshadowed Wen Chao using his wife to make a corpse.
The reason Qi Zhiyong gave the protagonist trouble corresponded to the cause of his death later on.
Everything the protagonist obtained eventually came in handy.
Talismans, divine abilities, Magic Treasures, Pig Intestines, the toolbox, longevity peaches, the phone...
There are countless examples like these, so I won't list them all.
From the moment I started writing, I wanted to tell a complete story: one whose beginning and ending were part of the same story, forming a logical loop, with little filler or meaningless plot, and a proper beginning and end.
I don't have the ability to do that in a very long novel.
But within the confines of this book's blessed land, I feel I did my best to achieve it. At least I came closer to my goal than before, so writing it felt comfortable and satisfying.
I'll do my best to maintain this level in the upcoming story, too.
