In Guobei County, a group of people dressed and looking utterly bizarre for this era silently entered the world.
"Boss, what's the Main God's mission?"
"Help kill Tree Demon Granny, Black Mountain Demon, and the Centipede Demon."
Hearing the teammate's question, Ponytail Sunglasses Man raised his hand and checked the information on his Reincarnation Watch.
"Yikes—no way. Tree Demon Granny is one thing, but unless the plot kills him off, even Yan Chixia can't beat Black Mountain Demon."
The black-haired boy who'd asked the question hunched his shoulders, looking a little afraid.
"What the hell are you scared of? The Hong Kong version of A Chinese Ghost Story wasn't all that impressive. I doubt Black Mountain Demon's that strong. And Yan Chixia's there, too. What's there to be afraid of?"
Beside the boy stood an Iron Man wearing an Iron Battle Suit. Judging by its design, though, it was only the most basic Mark 3 model.
"In any case, all we have to do is stick with Yan Chixia, right? It's strange, though. Why is this mission so easy?" The woman, the team's healer, frowned, unable to believe it.
"Whatever happens, stay cautious. No matter what world we're in, it never hurts to be careful."
A Middle-Aged Man stepped out of the shadows. At his waist hung two Godly Sand Eagle pistols from CF Mobile Game. His powerful arms and purple-glowing eyes made it clear that he was the team's ADC.
The five of them discussed their next move, then took out the ancient-style clothes they'd prepared and changed into them. They stored all their various weapons in their personal spaces. At least when it came to travel, the Main God had never shortchanged its Reincarnators.
As soon as they left the earthen house where they'd appeared in Guobei County, the first impression this world gave them was one of desolation and eeriness. Perhaps because it belonged to a supernatural setting, the atmosphere made the Reincarnators deeply uncomfortable, as if they'd entered a realm of ghosts.
"Now that I'm actually in the world of A Chinese Ghost Story, I realize the atmosphere is even more unnerving than in the movie." Though it wasn't cold at all, the boy couldn't help sneezing.
"The movie said this world is in the middle of a chaotic era. Famine, unrest, demons, and ghosts have all taken root here. There's too much negative energy. You've gained the powers of a Paladin, so it's only natural that you'd dislike a world like this."
The woman smiled faintly, murmured an incantation, and raised a hand to cast a Dispelling Spell on the boy, warming him up a little.
"Thanks, Sister Lan."
"No problem. Just be careful. If you attract something nasty, even Sister Lan won't be able to help." Chen Lan shook her head and led the boy after the rest of the team.
The Iron Man had already taken off his Iron Battle Suit and disappeared. When he returned, he'd learned the way to Luo Temple from a passerby.
The Reincarnators got the answer they wanted and set off for Luo Temple in a large group.
Once they left Guobei County, they quickly changed their clothes and prepared to move out.
Man in Sunglasses pulled a custom Alloy Spear from his personal space. His aura changed, and his body instantly grew to three meters tall. He was muscular, with powerful arms and steady steps, his broad frame like a wall. There was no doubt he was the team's tank.
Iron Man also donned his Iron Armor, fully equipping himself. Mounted on the Iron Battle Suit's right shoulder was a small turret, much like War Machine's Ex-Wife Missile.
Next, the man carrying two Godly Sand Eagles smiled faintly. Purple light gleamed in his eyes; it seemed he'd trained in some kind of Eye Technique.
The boy clenched his fist, and a Paladin Armor appeared on his body. He drew the Knight Sword at his waist, its blade gleaming with pure white Holy Light.
Beside him, Chen Lan took out a Magic Wand and cast buffs on every member of the team.
After looking over his teammates, Man in Sunglasses nodded. "If you're all ready, let's go!"

The Reincarnators raced toward Luo Temple. Their first priority was to befriend Yan Chixia, then get him to help them exterminate Tree Demon Granny and Black Mountain Demon.
But things might look good in theory; reality was another matter.
When they sped all the way to Luo Temple, they saw terrifying sword energy flying everywhere, exploding in all directions!
The bursts of sword energy blasted the already crumbling Luo Temple into ruins.
"What's going on?! Why is Yan Chixia fighting already?!" The Reincarnators stared at one another in confusion. The Reincarnation Watch had shown that Ning Caichen had only just entered Guobei County when they arrived in this world!
At this point, shouldn't Yan Chixia and Tree Demon Granny have been minding their own business? Why had they suddenly started fighting? Wasn't Ning Caichen supposed to fail to collect a debt, find himself with nowhere to go, and seek lodging at Luo Temple, where Tree Demon Granny's top courtesan would try to seduce him, only for Yan Chixia to discover her and start the battle?

As the group hesitated, the boy's voice rang out from directly ahead again. Thunderclouds gathered in the sky. Bolts of heavenly thunder descended, turning into thunder dragons as large as trains and crashing into Tree Demon Granny's territory.
RUMBLE!!!
With a scream, the terrifying atmosphere in the area began to dissipate. The ruins of Luo Temple, shrouded by Demon Aura for years, finally saw daylight once more.
"Ding! Due to an unknown anomaly, the mission to assist Yan Chixia in killing Tree Demon Granny has failed. Because this was caused by an irresistible force, the penalty for this mission has been canceled."
