"Would you like some Mapo Tofu? How much?" Kirei Kotomine asked, a headscarf tied around his head as he cooked Mapo Tofu.
Roman fell silent for a long while.
"Um... can I not have Mapo Tofu?"
"There is only one restaurant around here, and it is mine." Kirei Kotomine shook his head regretfully. "Therefore, if you wish to eat, you should have some Mapo Tofu."
Roman covered his mouth and turned his head away.
"Th-this is probably not a good idea. I have eaten rather a lot of it these past few days. It tastes good, but anyone would get tired of it."
Kirei Kotomine made a small portion of Mapo Tofu in disappointment. "Even you cannot escape this vulgar fate? Mapo Tofu is my life. A person can go without water, but they cannot go without Mapo Tofu."
Shirou could not help looking at Roman with pity. "Doctor, have you been eating Mapo Tofu ever since you came here?"
Roman nodded with difficulty.
"After all this time, have you eaten anything you actually like?"
"Come to think of it... no, I have not."
"I heard you liked strawberry cake?"
"Yes. Did Gudako tell you that?" A faint light appeared in Roman's eyes. He seemed to become animated whenever Gudako was mentioned.
