Nature and Function

Soul Power is a Soul Master's core cultivable energy. It circulates through the meridians, supports Martial Souls and Soul Skills, and determines the upper limit of Soul Tool manufacture and operation. Without sufficient Soul Power, even sophisticated Soul Tools cannot be properly wielded. 22 63

• Soul Skill activation — Soul Skills require specific Soul Power pathways. A seal can disable an individual skill's pathway while leaving the user's total Soul Power and ordinary meridian circulation intact. 201

Dharma Cleansing Marrow and Changing Tendons Scripture

Xue Lingyun's cultivation is built around three complementary chapters: Marrow Cleansing, Body Tempering, and Soul Power Circulation. Their combined use forms a self-reinforcing cycle: purified and expanded meridians improve circulation, deeper Soul Power supports harsher body training, and a stronger body can withstand more demanding circulation routes. 34

Heart Source Circulation Technique

Xue Lingyun created the Heart Source Circulation Technique while absorbing the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's Soul Ring. Rather than force the tiger's violent mixed energy through his former routes, he used the Primal Heart as the circulation core, absorbing, tempering, and pumping the energy through a newly formed meridian network. 12

Attributes and Compatibility

Soul Power may carry different elemental or Martial Soul attributes. Forcibly merging incompatible attributes can cause turbulence or even meridian damage. 146

Primal Heart Compatibility

Xue Lingyun's heart-based Body Martial Soul gives his Soul Power an unusual degree of compatibility with other people. He can share or transfer Soul Power without the rejection normally associated with foreign attributes, though this does not guarantee a Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 60 146

The Primal Heart can hold distinct energies without immediate conflict. After his first Soul Ring absorption, Xue Lingyun senses wind, lightning, darkness, evil, and ice-aligned energies coexisting within its domain. 13

• Selective activation — Evil Tiger Crushing Pulse can employ one or more of its inherent wind, lightning, darkness, and evil attributes; Xue Lingyun can also attempt to layer ice Soul Power onto it. 13
• Ring-energy transfer — Youyou's Energy Flow can temporarily divert the energy of other Soul Rings into a selected ring, creating a burst beyond Xue Lingyun's normal output. Its initial duration is only a few breaths before the energy naturally returns. 104

The Dark Demon Core originates from the unformed Life-Source Pearl left behind after Xue Lingyun absorbed the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's Soul Ring. It functions separately from the Primal Heart: it has no Soul Skills and cannot absorb Soul Rings, but can independently operate energy, store bloodline power, and sustain Xue Lingyun's life if necessary. 35 105
