Monday afternoon.
Before school let out, Meng Chuan received a call from Teacher Luo.
[Come over after school to practice your martial arts. Your Teacher's Wife is making dinner.]
Meng Chuan agreed, then called his aunt to tell her he was going to Teacher Luo's house to practice martial arts that evening and wouldn't be coming home for dinner.

"Hello, Teacher's Wife."
"Your teacher said you wear a size 44. Try them on and see if they fit."
He hurriedly reached out to take them.
"Teacher's Wife, I can do it myself."
Meng Chuan changed into the slippers. They fit snugly, and even after he shook his feet twice, they didn't budge at all. They were perfect for practicing martial arts at home.
Ren Ping tucked her loose hair behind her ear, then said with a smile:
"These are training slippers specially made for Martial Practitioners. Practicing punches barefoot all the time wears on your feet."
"They fit perfectly. Thank you, Teacher's Wife."
Just then, Luo Guanyun came out of the kitchen carrying a dish.
"You two can stop chatting and come eat."
At the table, Ren Ping kept piling food into Meng Chuan's bowl until it was nearly overflowing.
"I can serve myself, Teacher's Wife. My bowl's about to spill over."
"You're still growing, so eat more meat. Leave the vegetables for your teacher."
Luo Guanyun didn't look too pleased.
"What do you mean by that? Am I a rabbit? All I get to eat is grass!"
The two covered their mouths and chuckled. Laughter and cheer filled the dinner table.
