The author needs more continued reads.

I update nearly 6,000 words every day. In other words, by the time the book goes on sale, I'll have nearly 300,000 free words posted.

(Usually, it's 200,000 words.)

That's already far more than the usual update schedule.

Because if I update too much, I won't qualify for many recommendations.

Qidian authors aren't unwilling to write faster, but that's how the recommendation system works.
