When His Composure Crumbled

Wang Cheng waited outside for about ten minutes. While he waited, he had Number One look into Jiang Mingyue's current situation.

Soon, Wang Cheng learned a great deal about Jiang Mingyue.

For instance, just as he'd expected, Jiang Mingyue's life level had undergone a tremendous transformation. She was now a Planet level fifth order being!

"I knew she'd transform straight into a Planet level being, but I didn't expect her to jump all the way to Planet level fifth order!" Wang Cheng was a little surprised, but only a little.

To Wang Cheng, there was little difference between Planet level first order and fifth order.

As Wang Cheng waited, Jiang Mingyue soon came out. She was wearing a new maid outfit, but the back had been torn open in two places, and a pair of slightly translucent wings extended through the openings.

"Good thing you didn't turn into an ugly monster. Otherwise, even if I hated to do it, I'd have to consider getting a new servant!" Wang Cheng joked.

Jiang Mingyue smiled faintly at his teasing, but then her expression turned serious. "Brother Cheng, I want to kill someone!"

"Kill someone?" Wang Cheng was slightly taken aback.

"He's my enemy. I swore ten years ago that I'd kill him. Now, I think I'm strong enough to do it!" Jiang Mingyue said without hesitation.

"An enemy?" Wang Cheng nodded. Then he instructed Number One to look into it.

As long as something had left even the slightest trace on Earth, it was practically impossible for Number One to miss it. In less than a second, a mass of information appeared in Wang Cheng's mind.

"Yan Hai?" Wang Cheng asked.

Jiang Mingyue's expression shifted at the name, but she quickly nodded.

She was surprised that Wang Cheng had named him so readily, but considering how mysterious Wang Cheng was, it seemed only natural.

"You're Planet level fifth order now. Killing Yan Hai won't be difficult," Wang Cheng said with a smile. "As it happens, I know exactly where he is."

"Do you know Yan Hai, Brother Wang?" Jiang Mingyue asked, puzzled.

"You're overthinking it." Wang Cheng didn't elaborate. "Come on. I'll take you to him. I also have a debt to collect."

"Okay!" Jiang Mingyue agreed at once.

She had no time to think about anything else. There was only one thing on her mind: find Yan Hai, then kill him!

Jiang Mingyue at Planet level fifth order was far stronger than Luo Feng had been at the War God level, so Wang Cheng flew with her much faster. They left home and reached the Australian Continent in less than a minute.

Wang Cheng had Number One block all detection. Then he took Jiang Mingyue underground.

Following an underground river, Wang Cheng led her to a spot fifteen thousand meters below the Australian Continent's surface.

"The man wrapped in black is Yan Hai," Wang Cheng said calmly, watching Yan Hai search in the distance.

"Sorry for the trouble, Brother Cheng." Jiang Mingyue spoke, then flew toward Yan Hai, her expression blank.

Jiang Mingyue barely bothered to hide her killing intent. Combined with her terrifying aura, it made the hairs on Yan Hai's body stand on end as he searched for Luo Feng.

Yan Hai looked up and saw Jiang Mingyue flying toward him.

"Who are you?"

Yan Hai's pupils contracted. Jiang Mingyue's appearance struck him as strange: a maid outfit, and a pair of translucent wings on her back.

She wouldn't have looked out of place at a cosplay convention, but here, she looked bizarre!

Still, no matter how strange Jiang Mingyue looked, Yan Hai didn't dare let his guard down. Her undisguised power and killing intent were unmistakably real!

"My father is Jiang Zhenguo, and my mother is Helan. Yan Hai, do you remember them?" Jiang Mingyue asked coldly.

"Jiang Zhenguo?" Beneath his Black God suit, Yan Hai's face showed a flicker of shock. He stared at Jiang Mingyue in disbelief.

"You're that girl from back then?" Yan Hai recalled what had happened ten years ago. He'd only recently become a Councillor, and he'd been at the height of his confidence.

Back then, even some adults had been afraid to meet his gaze, yet a girl of sixteen or seventeen had dared to confront him and swear she'd make him pay.

"So you remember perfectly well!" Jiang Mingyue sneered. "Then you can die!"

"Wait. There may have been some misunderstanding about your father—" Yan Hai tried to say more, but Jiang Mingyue clearly had no intention of listening. The moment he started speaking, she vanished from where she'd been hovering.

"What?!"

Yan Hai's pupils contracted. The next instant—

Whoosh!

Jiang Mingyue appeared beside him without warning and swung a punch at him.

There was nothing fancy about it, just a simple straight punch. But it was so fast that Yan Hai could barely react. At the last moment, he crossed his arms and just managed to block it.

But the tremendous force behind the blow sent him flying.

"Pfft!"

Yan Hai spat out blood and slammed into the wall.

A Planet level fifth order being had eight times the strength of a Planet level second order being. Even with the Black God suit, Yan Hai was badly injured by Jiang Mingyue's punch.

Below Planet level, the Black God suit could defend against almost any physical attack. At Planet level, however, it was far less effective!

Jiang Mingyue gave Yan Hai no chance to react. She charged forward again and unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks. Beneath the Black God suit, Yan Hai's body soon became a bloody blur.

His life was draining away rapidly. He tried to call for help, even tried to beg for mercy, but Jiang Mingyue gave him no chance at all!

Meanwhile, aboard the cloaked Meteorite Star, Luo Feng was stunned.

He looked at the Little Demon hovering in front of him and asked in surprise, "You're saying Yan Hai is being hunted down outside?"

"Gah gah! It's not a hunt anymore—he's nearly dead!" Little Demon Babata cackled. "Looks like you're in luck. You'd just been cornered, and now his own enemy has shown up!"

"..."

Luo Feng was speechless. After boarding the ship, he'd quickly learned everything about Hu Yanbo's legacy.

Babata had also told him that Li Yao was searching for him outside with someone at Planet level second order.

Luo Feng knew Li Yao was hostile toward him, so he'd immediately guessed that Yan Hai, the Planet level second order expert, had come with bad intentions too. Luo Feng wasn't confident he could deal with Yan Hai, so he'd planned to hide aboard the ship until the two of them left.

But who could have expected Yan Hai to be hunted by his own enemy before Luo Feng had even hidden for long?

"I heard Councillors rarely come into conflict, and no Councillor has ever died in a clash with another. Yan Hai is Planet level second order, too. How could someone be hunting him down, and nearly kill him?" Luo Feng asked, puzzled.

"See for yourself!"

Babata projected a screen showing Jiang Mingyue brutally beating Yan Hai.

"...?" Luo Feng froze for a moment. He recognized Jiang Mingyue at once.

"You know her?" Babata asked, puzzled.

"She works at my neighbor's house." Thinking of how powerful Wang Cheng was, Luo Feng suddenly didn't find Jiang Mingyue's strength surprising.

"... Why does she have a pair of wings on her back?" Luo Feng soon noticed something strange.

"That's exactly what I was about to tell you!" Babata suddenly grew serious.

"Hmm." Luo Feng nodded.

"She's not an Earthling!" Babata pointed at Jiang Mingyue on the screen.

"Not an Earthling?" Luo Feng was slightly startled, but he'd already learned a lot from Hong. He knew Wang Cheng was likely an alien, so it wasn't hard to understand that Jiang Mingyue, who worked as a maid in Wang Cheng's home, might not be from Earth either!

"What are you thinking?" Babata's voice rang out. Luo Feng snapped out of it and shook his head.

"Listen carefully. Before my master died, he used a secret technique to conceal the spatial coordinates around Earth. Under normal circumstances, ordinary Humanity of the Universe couldn't get in here!" Babata continued:

"I don't know what's going on with that person out there, but you need to understand that my master's legacy would attract countless people. Once you leave, you must keep your identity hidden."

Babata rambled on, basically telling Luo Feng to lie low and not reveal himself until he was strong enough.

But just then, the communicator on Luo Feng's hand lit up. It connected automatically.

"Luo Feng, Yan Hai is almost beaten to death. I'm waiting outside. Come out," Wang Cheng's voice said.

In an instant, Babata fell silent. Luo Feng asked in surprise, "Brother Wang, you...?"

"Come out and we'll talk. I'll explain," Wang Cheng said with a smile, then ended the call.

"There's someone else outside? He actually bypassed me and contacted you..." Babata sounded nervous. According to his scans, only Li Yao, Yan Hai, and Jiang Mingyue were outside the ship. Where had this fourth person come from?

And Luo Feng was inside the Meteorite Star. How had the other person contacted him without Babata noticing?

"Babata, let's go out," Luo Feng said.

"Who is that?" Babata asked urgently.

"My neighbor, Wang Cheng. ... She works for him!" Luo Feng answered honestly. Then he added, "I found Mist Island because Brother Wang brought me to the Australian Continent. He also told me there were treasures beneath Mist Island."

"..."

Hearing that, Babata's composure crumbled. Did that mean someone might have planned for him to choose Luo Feng as his successor?

Of course, Luo Feng had laid out all the clues in one go because he'd realized it himself, too.

"What do you think?"

Babata looked at Luo Feng. If he'd had the chance to back out, he would have wanted to give up right then. But his master's only Soul Seal had already entered Luo Feng's mind. It hadn't fully merged yet, but Babata had no way to take it back!

Besides, Babata was loyal. Luo Feng had formally become his disciple, and he couldn't just abandon him.

"Of course we're going out!" Luo Feng thought for a moment, then added, "Actually, Brother Wang told me a long time ago that he had another reason for helping me. My gut tells me he doesn't mean me any harm!"

"Can you trust your gut?" Babata kept thinking through their options. In the end, he realized that no matter what, they'd have to go out and see.

Whatever Luo Feng's neighbor was after, they could only deal with it as it came!
