Background / History

One of the City Lord's three great clones monitored Wang Cheng's selection of a Chaos Tablet upon his arrival in Chaos City. This clone found no irregularity in Wang Cheng despite the latter's secrets and disguises. 123

After Wang Cheng's extraordinary progress through the Tongtian Bridge, the City Lord personally met him in the City Lord's Mansion. He recognized that Wang Cheng possessed a major secret, but chose not to pry after confirming that Wang Cheng held no malice toward humanity. He then accepted Wang Cheng as his registered disciple. 129

The City Lord initially kept Wang Cheng's discipleship public only in registered form until he reached World Lord level, both because accepting a Cosmic-level disciple was unusual for someone of his status and to reduce the danger Wang Cheng faced from alien assassins. 130
