Recovering for Now

My condition probably wouldn't improve anytime soon. The cold and damp in my body was too stubborn, and the doctor said I needed a period of rest. There was no way to say exactly how long it would take. I might recover in a week or two, or it could drag on for a month. Still, my condition was definitely improving. I just couldn't concentrate on writing during this time, so I had to ask everyone for an extended leave. As long as I was feeling up to it, I'd try to write a little. And don't worry that I'll abandon this book—I promise I'll finish it.
