Before the Snakefolk underwater base was destroyed, a diehard member had reported the Snake Mother's betrayal to the Grand Overlord through the Magic Communication Runes. Neither the White Phoenix Team nor the Snake Mother herself had been able to stop him.
The Snake Mother's exposure had become inevitable. Of course, it no longer mattered. From the moment the Grand Overlord and Lord Xi'en had formulated the initial two-layer battle plan and concealed their true intentions from the Snake Mother, it had been clear that she was no longer trusted.
Taking a step back, some of the Snakefolk fleeing the underwater base would certainly have managed to reach the Grand Overlord. Sooner or later, the Grand Overlord would learn of the Snake Mother's betrayal of the Abyss Faction.
Thus, the Snake Mother stopped hiding it and instead returned aboard Bai Xiaowen's flagship.
Bai Xiaowen looked at the Snake Mother and the dozen or so Snakewoman leaders beside her, then asked curiously, "Lady Jia Gelila, the native Snakefolk you commanded—sorry for using that term. I suppose we should call you the Mire Snakefolk Tribe—should have quite a few members, right? It's impossible that you only have these leaders and other powerhouses above Leader Tier. Where is the Mire Snakefolk army?"
The Snake Mother smiled. "Sorry, but I don't think a numerical advantage would be of much use against the Grand Overlord... If the Grand Overlord were a creature that could be beaten to death by being surrounded, then the Guardian Faction's allied army would already have enough troops. It wouldn't need the extra manpower from my tribe."
"So?"
"So I had the tribe scatter and go into hiding... We'll see what happens once the course of the war becomes clear."
The Snake Mother made no effort to hide her lack of confidence
