"A breakthrough in your second class manual will strengthen your body and expand your True Essence Force limit, but it will grant only 50% of the usual increase. Whether you learn a new skill depends on whether the second class manual provides one at that level."

Well, that was still pretty good.
One level for Bai Xiaowen would be worth one and a half levels for someone else.
In other words, his growth potential would equal that of a Lord Tier Evolver plus half a King Tier Evolver.
By now, Bai Xiaowen had figured out the Evolvers' power tiers and how they leveled up.
Evolvers were also divided into Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced tiers. Each stage had three levels, just as it did for Awakened.
But were there level 20 Evolvers? If so, they would probably count as Top-tier Evolvers.
Unlike Awakened, however, Evolvers' leveling had almost nothing to do with how many monsters they killed or quests they completed. It all depended on whether they made a breakthrough in their class manual. Break through, and they leveled up; fail, and they stayed stuck.
That meant plenty of Evolvers could remain at a critical level for a long time without making any progress.
