The ground trembled faintly as dinosaur claws churned up the forest floor, and the creatures raced onward.
It was a pack of Deinonychus. Bai Xiaowen had encountered them before.
Individually, Deinonychus weren't especially strong; they only had Elite Templates. But this was a High-Tier Secret Realm, and these Deinonychus were mostly above level 17. Even Mid-Tier Evolvers would have trouble dealing with them.
Bai Xiaowen didn't dare provoke a pack of seventy or eighty, especially when fighting them offered little benefit.
After reaching this stretch of forest, the pack slowed down. They split into groups of two or three and moved in different directions, searching the area.
They looked like a well-trained special forces unit!
Bai Xiaowen's heart jolted. He began to question what the Deinonychus were doing.
It was too strange. They moved with a clear purpose. They didn't seem to be hunting; it looked more as if they were searching for something—or someone...
Bai Xiaowen sprang lightly into a large tree. He suppressed his Spirit Force fluctuations and presence, then watched the strange dinosaurs' every move through the leaves with his Spirit Sense.
By the time the pack reached the dense woods where Bai Xiaowen was hiding, they had scattered into groups of two or three.
Three Deinonychus came near his tree, sniffing here and there with apparent confusion.
At the sight, Bai Xiaowen had no more doubts. These dinosaurs really were searching for him.
Suppressing his Spirit Force and presence could fool the detection of many powerful Evolvers, but not the keen noses of these dinosaurs.
As the three Deinonychus drew closer, Bai Xiaowen narrowed his eyes.
If I attack recklessly, I won't be able to hide my Spirit Force fluctuations. I could draw all the dozens of Deinonychus nearby.
