The creature also resembled a dog, but it had astonishing jumping power. With a crack, it leaped dozens of meters away, landing securely in a safe spot as its two claws began digging rapidly.

In barely ten seconds, the dog-faced creature burrowed underground. Another ten seconds later, the cracked black earth trembled, split open, and another Lava Colossus crawled out.

Sigrdrifa understood. "So the Feishan clan's true forms are these small magical beasts."

"These magical beasts are called Magma Jumpers. They're demons with both earth and fire attributes. They can burrow into the ground and use the power of lava to arm themselves," Bai Xiaowen said. He had seen information on Magma Jumpers in the intelligence handbook provided by Lord Candice.

For Magma Jumpers, attrition warfare was what they excelled at most. Their truly vulnerable period was after their lava shells had been shattered and their true forms exposed.

Yet the Magma Jumpers' true forms were as nimble as fleas. During that vulnerable period, all they had to do was avoid battle and burrow underground. Once they went underground, ten seconds later they would be fighting fit again. This "spell-like talent" ability consumed very little Spirit Force.
