The Antakh Colossus was the hundred-foot monster serpent from before, a scaled-up version of an Antakhean.
"Can Ice Leeches pass through the mental passage?" Bai Xiaowen wondered. The passage had twelve mental barriers designed to mislead intruders, trapping their minds in an endless loop through an illusory mental space. They should never reach the real Antakhe Kingdom.
"They shouldn't... I'll keep the Colossus from fighting them. We can leave them trapped in the mental passage until they die."
The Antakha Caretaker spoke with confidence.
But a few breaths later, the Antakha Caretaker abruptly looked up. "This is bad! The Ice Leeches have already passed the first mental barrier... How is that possible? Someone must be directing these monsters!"
"I'll take a look."
Bai Xiaowen drew a breath. As a purely mental being, the Antakha Caretaker had virtually no combat ability. A single Antakh Colossus, even one at High King Tier, could never fight that many Ice Leeches.
Even Bai Xiaowen couldn't handle so many. He needed to find whoever was controlling the swarm, and fast.
Bai Xiaowen could have simply left, but he owed the Antakhe Kingdom a favor. He couldn't bring himself to abandon them.
"Thank you. I'll send you through the mental passage." The gratitude on the Antakha Caretaker's face looked just as false as his other expressions. He placed his illusory hands on Bai Xiaowen's and Sigrdrifa's shoulders.
Light flashed, and Bai Xiaowen and Sigrdrifa appeared in the underground hall where they had fought the Colossus.
The once quiet, empty hall was packed with Ice Leeches. As soon as they "saw" Bai Xiaowen, great numbers of them turned and surged toward him.
