Surrounded by her friends, Ichinose Honami listened as they kept steering the conversation in that direction, her face turning so red it looked ready to bleed.
She tried to stop them a couple of times, but how could one voice drown out a whole room? After all her efforts, she only drew more teasing.
Finally, she slapped the table and stood up.
"All right, enough!"
Ichinose Honami took a deep breath, looking as though she had decided to throw caution to the wind. "Stop going on about this! Keep it up, and not even snacks will shut you up."
She looked around the room and announced,
"Let's get to the main event."
"The main event?"
Kobashi Yume blinked. "What main event does a party need? Isn't eating snacks and chatting the main event?"
"Just talking is boring."
As she spoke, Ichinose Honami pulled something from her bag and set it on the table with a clack.
It was an empty glass bottle.
"Let's play truth or dare."
Her eyes swept over everyone, carrying a hint of, Anyone who keeps gossiping about me had better be ready for punishment.
"We spin the bottle. Whoever it points to chooses truth or dare."
"Are you brave enough?"
"You're on!"
Kobashi Yume was the first to respond. She loved games like this. "Who's scared of whom?"
"I'm in too." Ando Sayo raised her hand.
"Count me in."
Hoshinomiya Chie put down her chips, looking eager. "Your teacher's joining too. This is the perfect chance to pry out your little secrets."
Everyone chimed in.
Sitting in his seat, Kazehara Tetsu looked at the glass bottle on the table, then at the roomful of girls raring to go, and his heart sank.
He had thought the interrogation when he came in was the only hurdle he
