The sky over Bexland was still hazy, just like any other day.
Altair was still asleep. By the time she realized something was wrong, she was already bound by Vivian's spider silk.
Looking at the smiling woman by the bedside, Altair felt helpless and grumbled inwardly, 'Are we really going this hard right after I got back? Is it necessary?'
When Altair struggled with all her might but couldn't break free, she could only beg, "Vivian, can you let me go?"
Vivian, standing by the bedside, flatly refused, "That won't do. I didn't expect you to cause such a big mess in less than half a month since I left."
"Besides, your body is much more honest than your mouth."
Vivian teased Altair with the spider silk as she spoke.
"Don't, don't touch there."
This feeling of friction from the silk was truly unbearable!
"Beg me."
She chuckled softly, her voice not loud but carrying a magnetic huskiness, the end of her words slightly rising as if hooking one's curiosity.
"It seems your body has grown quite a bit during my half-month absence."
"What did you just give me to eat?"
"Of course, it was what you should have eaten."
"I can't anymore, let's finish."
"No, what can't you do?"
Vivian traced a finger across Altair's chest and said, "I'm troubling you again this time, help me complete the 'act'."
Hearing this, Altair rolled her eyes directly at her.
Vivian got up, controlling the "spider silk" as she dressed, and said, "I have some bad news for you, the Witch Cult knows about your situation."
"However, they haven't issued any follow-up arrangements for you yet."
Vivian's dramatic pause made Altair's suspended heart completely relax. She got up and said with a smile, "What can they do to me now? If they had made a move when my father had just passed away, I might have been scared, but now, unless the Witch Cult dispatches a 'Demigod'."
Vivian turned her head to look at Altair and said with a smile, "It seems Little Kexin, you've grown up. Just as you said, they are also troubled by this matter right now."
"You are now an Earl of the Kingdom of Ruun, the grandniece of a Demigod, and the largest shareholder of Bexland's new industrial park. If anything were to happen to you now, even George III couldn't clean up their mess for them."
"So, it's highly probable they will cooperate with you later."
After Altair quickly got dressed, she hugged Vivian from behind and said, "We'll talk about this later. After all, we can't decide what they do."
"What about you? You've been out for half a month, isn't this supposed to be a simple matter?"
Vivian turned around to face Altair and said, "I can't tell you that."
After speaking, Vivian's expression turned grim, and she asked, "I don't remember giving you the 'Instigator' potion recipe."
Altair felt very awkward at this moment, thinking she could keep it a secret. But seeing Vivian's current expression, she knew she was overthinking it and said helplessly, "After you left, I started acting as an 'Assassin'. When the potion was digested and you still hadn't returned, I happened to have the 'Instigator' potion recipe at home, so I had to advance myself."
Vivian teased with a smile, "Given your recent actions, it seems your 'Instigator' potion is almost digested."
"But I still suggest you slow down. I should have told you that the 'Witch Cult' has been looking for people who can advance quickly recently. I don't think this is a good thing."
"And are you ready to be a 'woman'?"
As noon approached, Altair and Vivian finally went downstairs for a meal.
Of the people in the manor, only Hahn was familiar with Vivian. Freya, Vera, and Irene didn't know her at all. They were shocked to see her coming out of Altair's room.
Vivian asked while eating, "Those three are the maids Hahn found for you."
Altair didn't try to hide anything about this matter. Before Vivian returned, she had already informed her via 'Magic Mirror Communication' that she had a housekeeper and two personal maids at home. Besides, it was impossible to hide, as they were three living people.
"That's right, those three are. I should have introduced them to you. The one with the outstanding aura is Freya, the one with the cold personality is Irene, and the one who looks cute next to them is Vera."
Vivian began to fiercely cut the steak on her plate with her steak knife, only stopping when the plate made a sound, and said, "It seems Hahn has quite an opinion of me."
Seeing Vivian's behavior, Altair immediately put down her cutlery and looked at her, afraid she would do something out of line and cause an accident.
After a long while, Vivian sighed.
"Forget it, his actions are not wrong."
She then turned to Altair and said directly, "Continue eating!"
Seeing that Vivian's mood had calmed down, Altair picked up her steak knife and continued eating.
He was genuinely afraid of her recent outburst. Vivian could erupt at any moment. While she treated him well, he couldn't let his guard down; she was a proper Witch, after all!
After Vivian left, Freya and the others, still frightened, gathered around. "Count Altair, who was that just now? Her attitude and expression were terrifying."
Count Altair pondered their words before answering directly, "She is Count Altair's Madam. Her mood isn't very good, so be careful if you encounter her in the future."
Watching Altair walk away, Vera grumbled softly, "What is he talking about? Count Altair is lying. She's clearly a girl like us, calling herself 'Madam' and teasing us again."
The other two didn't respond to Vera's complaint. As for Altair's words, the sounds coming from the room that morning when he'd gone to wake her were ample evidence.
Freya and Irene finished their thoughts and looked at Vera simultaneously, thinking, Indeed, as Count Altair said, being an Optimist is a good thing.
Then, they exchanged a look, their eyes practically sparking fire as they rolled their eyes at each other and left.
When Vera saw them leave, she realized they weren't complaining about Altair's actions with her as they usually did.
After they departed, Vera could only sheepishly follow them.
In the afternoon, Altair emerged from his study and saw Vera alone, playing with the Black Panther. He immediately asked, "Vera, where is everyone else?"
Vera flinched when she heard his voice from behind her. She patted her chest, turned around, and said, "Count Altair, Irene and Freya are off doing something. They aren't playing with me today."
Vera's words didn't strike Altair as odd. Instead, he stared intently at the corner of her mouth and said, "Stop stealing the Black Panther's treats. I gave you ten pounds, didn't I? You can buy your own good ones."
Hearing Altair's words, Vera immediately turned and wiped the crumbs from her mouth, saying, "Isn't the real reason because the Bexland Pet Care Company makes these little biscuits so delicious?"
The "little biscuits" Vera mentioned were pet biscuits made from flour, vegetables, meat, and water.
Altair hadn't eaten them himself, but the smell alone made them seem delicious.
In this era, ordinary people considered sour-tasting Black Bread delicious. How much better would a premium pet food with superior ingredients be?
