"Thus have I heard: In the Pure Glazed Realm, there was an Awakened One..."
"Glazed Medicine Pure Light..."
Since Verdant Green Maiden was an Immortal herself, her path to spreading the Law went remarkably smoothly. Wanted a divine miracle? No problem—snow in midsummer, sweet rain on parched earth, she could make it happen. Even if someone asked her to tell their fortune, whether it was one person's future and fate or that of an entire city or country, she could say a thing or two.
Healing the sick and prescribing medicine posed no problem either!
Her medical skills couldn't truly bring the dead back to life or regrow flesh on bare bones, but most difficult and unusual ailments were easy for her to handle.
Sigh...
Verdant Green Maiden couldn't help sighing. It seemed learning medicine from Chunyu Tiying back then had indeed been the right choice.
After wandering the world for thousands of years, no skill ever went amiss.
What was more, the Glazed Sutra consisted of just one scroll and three chapters, and was easy to understand. In less than a year, the people across vast stretches of the Kushan Empire's eastern territories could all recite a few lines.
Her benevolent name spread far and wide!
Gradually, some people proposed building a temple to worship Glass Bodhisattva, and the place where Verdant Green Maiden had settled came to be known as Medicine Offering City.
Word of this quickly reached the capital of the Kushan Empire.
At that time, two eminent monks from India were preaching the Law in the Kushan capital: Kashyapa Matanga and Dharmaratna. Both were deeply learned in Buddhist Law. When they heard rumors of Glass Bodhisattva, they set out at once, leading eight hundred Bhikshus and Bhikshunis from west to east.
They weren't making a pilgrimage.
