"Cough, cough!" Just as Riley was halfway through his sentence, Zhang Yu suddenly coughed twice.

As though he had not noticed, Zhang Yu kept his eyes on Mark Tatum, maintaining a gentle smile.

Wirtz and Riley both fell silent, quietly setting down their knives and forks as they observed Mark Tatum's reaction.

Zhang Yu nodded and slowly said:

At that moment, the waiter began serving the dishes. None of them were particularly expensive—just ordinary fare such as oxtail rice, pea soup, and fried plantains, completely at odds with this upscale restaurant's positioning.

Mark Tatum's expression remained unchanged. He instead invited Zhang Yu and the others to eat, but while Riley was speaking, his smile visibly faded. Zhang Yu caught the change.

"David designated Adam as his successor, and those team owners also approved of Adam's strategy of bringing in gambling companies. I opposed it. How could they possibly vote for me? Before the vote even began, I knew I had no chance of winning.
