Chapter 025
"Welcome."
Borgin, the owner of Borgin and Burkes, eyed Li Mu sharply as he pushed the door open.
He was assessing the customer's strength, wealth, and reputation. If the customer had no money, it would be a normal transaction. If they had money and a good reputation, it would also be a normal transaction. But if they had money and no reputation, it was an opportunity for a double-cross, which would allow him to profit handsomely without damaging his reputation.
"I'm here to sell something."
Li Mu said.
"I offer absolutely fair prices here."
Borgin lied through his teeth without batting an eye.
"The item is very valuable, and this isn't a convenient place."
Li Mu said meaningfully.
"Follow me."
Borgin said, opening a hidden door leading to the basement.
He wasn't worried about being double-crossed in the basement. The entire shop was filled with traps and curses. Anyone who dared to try and double-cross him in his shop would fail. He would immediately kneel, beg for mercy, and call him 'dad'. Walking ahead, Borgin had no idea what he was about to encounter.
Li Mu followed Borgin into the basement and began taking things out of a pocket that had been expanded with the Vanishment Charm from an Elf Magic Cannon.
First was a wand. Borgin examined it and, finding no curses, picked it up with some disappointment.
However, the moment he held it, the wand provided him with a huge boost.
Whether it was his control over Magic Power or the casting of spells, he felt this wand was incredibly suited for him.
Before he could harbor greedy thoughts and make a move on Li Mu, Li Mu had already continued to take out more items.
They were bottles of Wizard Potions. Borgin picked up a bottle and initially didn't recognize it, but soon, with his extensive knowledge, he identified them by their characteristics as all being lost Wizard Potions.
Borgin looked at Li Mu nervously as he saw him take out ten more chests of Gold Galleons.
He recognized them as standard Gringotts chests. Expanded by the Vanishment Charm, each could hold a million Gold Galleons. These ten chests represented ten million Gold Galleons. Carrying so many Gold Galleons, these Wizard Potions were definitely not for sale.
Furthermore, with so many Wizard Potions and Gold Galleons, they were just displayed openly, with no concern about him double-crossing?
This clearly showed absolute strength, which was why he was so confidently flaunting his wealth.
Without absolute strength, even if it were just the Gold Galleons, these Wizard Potions themselves would be impossible to obtain.
"What exactly do you want to do?"
Bork couldn't help but ask.
"If I give you these things, how many dark wizards can you buy for me?"
Li Mu asked with a smile.
"..."
Bork felt speechless.
How many wizards were there in the entire British Magic World in total, and dark wizards were only a minority. Let alone these Wizard Potions, even these tens of millions of Gold Galleons were enough to hire all the dark wizards in the entire British Magic World. Was he trying to start a wizard war or overthrow the Ministry of Magic?
"Answer me this question in two days."
Li Mu said as he left the basement, "I'm going to Hogwarts to get rid of Dumbledore. If I fail, all of this is yours. If I succeed, I hope you can use these to gather enough dark wizards for me next time we meet."
"Gulp!"
Bork swallowed, startled by Li Mu's words.
Getting rid of Dumbledore, gathering dark wizards with tens of millions of Gold Galleons. There was no need to say more about what he was trying to do. Someone was trying to become the third Dark Lord, and this third Dark Lord was more confident, richer, and more handsome than Voldemort. At least Voldemort, in his prime, never openly declared war on Dumbledore.
When Bork left the basement, he only saw Li Mu get into a cabinet in his shop.
He knew it was a Vanishing Cabinet, capable of establishing a secret spatial channel with another Vanishing Cabinet.
However, he didn't know where the other end led, nor whether the other Vanishing Cabinet was functional. If it led to a dangerous place, it would be better. If the other Vanishing Cabinet was broken, forcing his way into it could lead to him getting lost in the spatial rift and dying inside.
Now that the Mysterious Person had gone in, he clearly knew that the other end led to Hogwarts.
For a moment, Bork wanted to destroy the Vanishing Cabinet in his shop.
This way, when the Mysterious Person returned, he would be trapped inside forever.
But he thought that the Mysterious Person's return would mean Dumbledore was dead. Although those Gold Galleons and Wizard Potions were tempting, a terrifying existence that could kill Dumbledore dared to hand over such wealth directly to him. Did he have no precautions at all?
He might as well wait for news. Perhaps Dumbledore would be the one to survive.
Passing through the Vanishing Cabinet, Li Mu emerged from another cabinet.
The Vanishing Cabinet on the Hogwarts side was originally broken, but Snape had repaired the broken Vanishing Cabinet according to his request and moved it to his office. Therefore, when he emerged from the Vanishing Cabinet, he directly arrived at Snape's office.
Li Mu took out a bottle of Polyjuice Potion and pinched his nose as he drank it.
The potion took effect, and he had transformed into Snape's appearance.
The Elf Wizard Robe had also transformed, changing into Snape's attire.
Li Mu looked in the mirror. He now looked exactly like Snape.
Leaving the office, he arrived at the eighth floor of Hogwarts Castle. Passing through the end of the spiral staircase, he had arrived outside the Headmaster's office.
"Ice cold lemonade."
Li Mu spoke the password to the Headmaster's office.
The gleaming Oak Door opened, revealing a spacious and beautiful circular room.
Dumbledore, who was feeding a bird, looked at the suddenly appearing Snape with confusion.
"I found the Basilisk."
Li Mu said hurriedly.
"The Basilisk? Where?"
Dumbledore asked calmly after a slight startle.
"Inside Hogwarts."
Li Mu replied. "Today I found a special snake scale in the castle. After some verification, I am certain it is a Basilisk scale. You know how dangerous this thing is. If this Basilisk isn't dealt with immediately, the entire Hogwarts will be unsafe."
"Where did you find the scale?"
Dumbledore asked with a serious expression.
"In the pipes within the castle walls."
Li Mu answered immediately. "Only there could accommodate the Basilisk's passage."
Dumbledore nodded in agreement. The Basilisk was enormous. If it had appeared openly, it would have been discovered long ago. However, passing through the pipes deep within the castle walls was another matter, as those pipes had been abandoned for centuries, and past Headmasters had paid them no mind.
Dumbledore, with the phoenix Fawkes, accompanied Snape to the Hogwarts dungeons.
Soon, they had roughly pinpointed the location of a pipe deep within a wall. They directly removed the bricks from the wall, and with a final spell, blasted open the pipe deep inside. Fawkes flew in first. A phoenix capable of Nirvana rebirth had no need to worry about suddenly encountering the Basilisk.
It had only been a few minutes. Fawkes had already flown through all the pipes within the castle.
Continuing along the pipes into the deep underground, Fawkes soon finished its reconnaissance and returned the way it came.
