After Westbrook got blocked, he stopped handling the ball on offense, and it was swung down low to Griffin.
The Thunder excelled at defense-to-offense transitions, but they had relatively few options in the half court. Basically, they had two moves: Westbrook went to work, then Griffin went to work after him.
After Jeff Green returned, those two moves became three.
That was rather similar to that Thunder team from history.
Although Griffin had short arms, his low-post skills were actually decent. He backed down Milsap, spun like a Tyrannosaurus, and wiped his way straight to the basket.
But just as he went up for the shot, Yao Ming rotated over with Pre-emptive Help Defense.

Even Sun Hao was a little stunned by that sight.
Yao Ming was carrying some serious weight tonight!
As it turned out, Sun Hao's feeling was right. Yao Ming's form in his first playoffs game could only be described as blazing hot.
By the end of the third quarter, Yao Ming had already put up a monstrous double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds!
