The work in ninth place was once again a manga from Qin Province.
The manga ranked below that came from all sorts of provinces. Their genres varied widely, and their places of origin seemed to follow no pattern. Most had only a few thousand paying readers, and some had just a few hundred.
After a quick look, Li Xing was undeniably excited and proud.
Although the comics had only been posted on the website for about two hours, eight of the current top ten were from Qin Province. As someone from Qin Province, it was only natural for Li Xing to feel that way.
And the only reason Qin Province had claimed just eight of the top ten spots was that it had only eight entries in the Dragon Star Award...
That was hardly surprising. Qin Province had the largest population in the Dragon Kingdom, with nearly 130 million people—roughly three or four times the population of an average province. With such a huge population, the strength of its manga artists and publishing companies was second only to Modu and RB across the entire Dragon Kingdom.
While manga companies in other provinces were congratulating themselves over magazine sales of a few hundred thousand copies, Qin Province had five manga magazines that regularly sold over a million copies a week.
As a result, Qin Province's manga had dominated the Dragon Star Award rankings year after year.
After all, the province's manga were excellent, and there were simply far too many local fans.
The Dragon Star Award's rules made it clear: a work's quality mattered, but so did its popularity and fanbase.
