The Meeting

After watching the entire interview livestream, Chu Yu fell into thought.

He felt like he understood Su Ruo a little better now!

Su Ruo was usually pretty aggressive, but on the show, she'd seemed several times more forceful than usual!

Then again, Li Xiaoyun had gone straight after Zhao Qinyin, so it was no wonder.

As far as Chu Yu could remember, aside from him, no one who upset Zhao Qinyin had ever escaped a scolding when she found out.

Zhao Qinyin and Su Ruo had known each other for so long that Su Ruo probably thought of her as a younger sister!

"Good for them!" Chu Yu chuckled.

Come to think of it, Su Ruo and I have known each other for ages. What am I to her? Her little brother?

That would be so gross. Besides, she clearly didn't treat him that way!

Or maybe they were best friends?

Chu Yu shook his head. After mulling it over for a while without reaching any conclusions, he called Gu Yan.

After all, it had been a whole day since they'd last spoken. He'd been too busy!

"Chu Yu, calling me this late at night? Didn't you have to work overtime tonight?" Gu Yan's voice came through the phone, sounding pleasantly surprised.

"Were you asleep?"

"Isn't that obvious? If I were asleep, how could I answer your call?"

"I meant, were you asleep before I called?" Chu Yu said.

"Fine, enough nonsense. If you have something to say, hurry up! I've been exhausted from work lately, and you haven't even made time to come back to Modu. Now you call just to ask if I'm asleep! That's so perfunctory, like those guys who only know how to ask girls if they've had brown sugar water!" Gu Yan immediately started complaining.
