In truth, neither Tianxing nor Yin Tian had underestimated Chu Yu. After all, Chu Yu's fanbase spoke for itself!
But the biggest winner in January's Animation Market had turned out to be one of Chu Yu's works from high school. Who could accept that? How could Tianxing have expected its own series, backed by an enormous investment of eighty or ninety million, to get crushed by a four-episode short anime?
Although Imbalance wasn't Tianxing's biggest investment of the year, it was still a series they'd placed high hopes in. And what happened? Starting on its second day, it was crushed by Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal. It was already March, and because Imbalance had failed to seize the advantage in January's Animation Market, its later performance had also been disappointing. The series hadn't even reached an average of seven million plays per episode. It was nothing like what Tianxing had imagined at the start: a series that would sweep all competition, break ten million average plays per episode, and give Tianxing a strong start to the year!
And now April was just around the corner!
Just like in January, Chu Yu's The Garden of Words would also premiere in April!
After all, it was only a forty- or fifty-minute, light romance anime. By all rights, something like that—like an old anime OVA, a side story, a short, or a snack-sized episode—shouldn't pose a threat to Lost Forest, Ruan Zhiqi's series that Tianxing was promoting as its main release in April!
That should have been the case. Unfortunately, Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal had given Tianxing far too big a shock in January!
Everyone at Tianxing seemed to have realized that whenever Shui Xin was involved, low-probability events were never really low-probability!
In truth, given that Ruan Zhiqi was a newcomer
