After parting ways with Klein and his group, Wang Yang headed straight into a narrow path, officially entering the forest area.
Unlike the outskirts of the forest, the first obvious change upon entering was the dimmer light. Beyond that came the limitations of the terrain—lush undergrowth and towering trees surrounded him on all sides, leaving very few open spaces suitable for combat.
Only sparse rays of light filtered through the dense branches and leaves, forming scattered spots on the ground. Even in the afternoon, the entire forest appeared exceptionally dark. Combined with the only sounds around him—the soft rustling of wind brushing through the treetops—Wang Yang, alone in the forest, involuntarily shivered, feeling as though goosebumps had risen across his skin.
He even felt a chill, though he did not know whether it came from the dropping temperature or his own nerves.
The Strategy Guide mentioned two deadly dangers in the forest area. One was not to destroy the small carnivorous plants bearing fruit. The other was that Players who had not learned enemy detection needed to pay close attention to anything unusual around them, because the monsters in the forest were highly concealed. If they were not careful, they could walk right up beside a Monster without realizing it.
Following those two precautions, Wang Yang remained highly alert to the movements around him as he traveled. So far, however, he had not encountered any monsters. Following the map's directions, he chose the right path toward the village. After walking for around five minutes and passing through a clump of waist-high grass, three small carnivorous plants finally appeared in the clearing ahead.
