Defeat the Second Floor Boss

Diavel had already led the raid party, along with Kibaou and the others—a total of forty-eight people—and begun fighting the highest-level Illfang the Kobold Lord.

The highest-level Illfang the Kobold Lord had four health bars, each with around 5,500 HP.

Altogether, that was over 20,000 HP.

Even with all forty-eight of them fighting it, they were having some difficulty.

That was because Illfang the Kobold Lord's number of underlings had increased from one to four, and their levels had risen from level 13 to level 16.

Illfang the Kobold Lord's own level had also risen from 19 to 23.

That was the boss level in Hard Mode.

The raid party members had also split up their combat strength.

With a wave of his hand, Diavel ordered them into squads of six, each squad assigned to deal with one of Illfang the Kobold Lord's minions.

Each six-man squad consisted of two shield users holding large shields for defense.

Then there were two one-handed sword users or spearmen, responsible for engaging in close combat to stall or restrain the enemy.

There was also an archer responsible for providing ranged support.

And finally, a healer responsible for restoring their teammates' MP and HP.

This was the standard, optimal setup for fighting wild monsters.

It had both offense and defense, allowing them to switch between retreating and attacking at any time.

With two heavy-shield users blocking the way, retreating would be easy as well.

And since there were four minions, roughly half the group—twenty-four people—had to be assigned to deal with the four lesser monsters.

The remaining half of their total combat strength, another twenty-four people, followed Diavel to fight the boss, Illfang the Kobold Lord.

Kirito was among them, becoming part of the main force attacking the boss.
