Background / History
As a child, Akasaka fled debt collectors and encountered Kagura in Dragon Country. He became her only companion, taught her the difference between right and wrong, and eventually left to avoid bringing danger to her home. Kagura nevertheless defended him from the collectors and retained the umbrella he gave her for her birthday. 484
At Kōtō Ikusei Gakuen, Akasaka begins building money and influence immediately. He blackmails Kamuro Masumi into acting as his undercover source in Class A, then joins the Student Council for a monthly salary of 100,000 points. 3 4
His early schemes are explicitly profit-driven. He accepts payments from Horikita Manabu and Hoshinomiya Chie, calculates teachers' wealth as potential targets, and builds alliances through favors, leverage, and personal points. 14 19
Personality
Akasaka is calculating, opportunistic, and highly transactional. He evaluates people by their usefulness, regularly exchanges aid for points or favors, and favors plans that let one action produce several advantages at once. 3 19 539
He is also pragmatic about power. He recruits skilled people, delegates work, exploits institutional weaknesses, and avoids using excessive force when a cheaper or less conspicuous method will work. 216 520 522
Despite his manipulative methods, Akasaka is intensely protective of people he considers his own. He intervenes for Karuizawa despite disliking her, protects Mahiru from those targeting her, and refuses proposals that would treat Shiina Hiyori as a disposable tool. 119 489 494
Abilities & Skills
Chuunibyou Mode
Akasaka manifests powers derived from anime and fiction through imagination. Its fundamental law is equivalent exchange: greater effects consume greater amounts of stamina.
- Enhances his physical ability and enables the manifestation of fictional techniques. 126 594
- Requires an external medium for weapon-based abilities; a sufficiently similar forged object can serve as a template for a Noble Phantasm. 820
- Cannot be maintained indefinitely; depleted stamina leaves him no stronger than an ordinary person. 520
- Its duration can be increased by absorbing external energy through Zero Point Breakthrough Revised. 919
Sharingan and Genjutsu
Akasaka employs several Sharingan-derived abilities, ranging from short-term mental control to spatial manipulation.
- Three-Tomoe Sharingan — Can control an ordinary target for approximately one day and one night at his then-current stamina level. 520
- Kaleidoscope Sharingan — Grants access to Kamui's intangibility and spatial effects, as well as Susanoo; excessive use carries severe side effects such as potential blindness. 510 520 949
- Simplified Kotoamatsukami — Provides instantaneous mental interference, used to counter Mukuro Rokudo's attempted possession. 949
- Susanoo — A purple ribcage-like defense that protects him from otherwise lethal explosions and attacks. 510 554
Geass
Akasaka can mimic Lelouch Lamperouge's Geass to issue commands or alter a target's condition.
- Uses the ability to cure Yuki through an inherited-looking “medical technique” that he insists on performing privately. 549
- Can control only one person at a time under certain conditions, with the cost capable of draining nearly all of his stamina. 566
Combat Training and Adaptation
Although initially weak in direct combat, Akasaka trains to correct this weakness and rapidly incorporates techniques he observes.
- Trains under Hiratsuka Shizuka to improve his basic strength. 285
- Receives further physical training from Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, including a daily exercise and diet regimen. 303
- Learns Chisato Nishikigi's bullet-dodging movement by observing her, though predicting trajectories requires intense concentration. 439
- Uses martial arts including Wudang techniques, the Great Shift of Heaven and Earth, and the Hundred-Step Flying Sword. 442 554
Ajin Immortality
Akasaka can reset his body after death.
- Can deliberately kill himself to trigger a full bodily reset and remove injuries or anesthetic effects. 698
- Severed his own arm to stop tranquilizer spread before using repeated revivals to continue fighting. 698
- Keeps this ability secret by having witnesses dismissed as unreliable and confined to a psychiatric hospital. 698
Six Paths Power
After receiving residual power from the Spirit World, Akasaka awakens the six-tomoe Rinnegan and Six Paths abilities.
- Uses Amenotejikara to safely reposition allies. 720
- Can summon the nine Tailed Beasts through a summoning contract. 720
- Can sustain Six Paths Mode for an extended period using the remaining Spirit World energy stored within him. 723
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Avalon's scabbard — Used to block a barrage of arrows and protect his entire party. 820 841
- Excalibur — A forged medium used to manifest the Noble Phantasm's genuine power through Chuunibyou Mode. 820
- Tiger King's Sword Teeth — Dual orange Sword Teeth forged by Lisbeth; the completed pair is purple-ranked. 780
- Shalltear's Pipette Lance and Vampire Reaper — Used to absorb enemies' HP and mana during the battle against Laughing Coffin. 858
- Strike Freedom Gundam — Materialized from a model and piloted to bypass Aincrad floors and assault the 100th-floor boss. 866 867
- Ankuriboh card — Given by Yugi Mutou as a symbol of friendship; possesses time-travel potential. 406
Relationships
- Ayanokoji Kiyotaka — His sworn friend, frequent ally, and most useful combat asset; they cooperate against Ayanokoji Atsuomi despite Akasaka's distrust of him. 43 273 489
- Kato Megumi — A close operative who stands beside him as one of his strongest available allies and assists his class-ranking schemes. 216 539
- Horikita Suzune — A reciprocal ally. She serves as his bodyguard to repay a favor, while he later supports her ambition to lead her class to Class A. 43 538
- Kaguya Shinomiya — Political ally and key connection to the Shinomiya Conglomerate; she supports his prime ministerial campaign and later works closely under his leadership. 495 567 606
- Shiina Mahiru — His wife and the mother of his child. Akasaka reacts with extreme violence after learning that Ayanokoji Atsuomi targeted her. 492 489 520
- Kagura — Childhood friend from the Yato Clan. She remains loyal to Akasaka, protects Mahiru, and refuses to abandon him even when he tries to push her away for her safety. 484 489 494
- Yuuki Asuna — His Aincrad teammate and later wife; together they raise their daughter, Yuuki Asuka. 730 861 865
- Kogenji Rokusuke — An ally indebted to Akasaka. Akasaka cashes in Kogenji's final favor to help Horikita's class reach Class A. 538 539
- Hiratsuka Shizuka — His physical-strength mentor. 285
- Himeno Yuki — His wife in a future segment and the mother of one of his daughters. 272
