Kirito's shout snapped Akasaka and Asuna back to their senses.
They were still fighting the boss. The two immediately drew their weapons and charged forward, ready to join the battle.
Unfortunately, Kirito's Starburst Stream dealt far too much damage. Before Akasaka and Asuna could even reach him, they abruptly stopped in their tracks.
Because the battle on Kirito's side had already ended.

He drove both swords into the boss's chest.
Not only did he shatter the red gem in its chest—the boss's weak point—but he also took its last sliver of health in the process.
The Boss turned into fragments that filled the sky, vanishing between heaven and earth.
Since Kirito had landed the killing blow, he gained a massive amount of experience, jumping directly from level 58 to level 62.
Four levels in a row.
Akasaka's group of four split the remaining experience evenly, each gaining roughly two levels.
Akasaka went from level 74 to level 76.
Asuna rose from level 71 to level 73.
Usagisawa Misumi rose from level 67 to level 69.
Argo the Rat had originally been level 36. Since her level was so low and her experience bar so short, the huge amount of experience let her gain six levels in a row, reaching level 42.
Most importantly, she had barely contributed any damage. Her attacks were so weak that hitting monsters was like scratching an itch, so she had gained the least experience out of the five.
Even so, she still went up six levels.
Everyone put away their weapons.
Akasaka stored his two Sabertooths in the system inventory.
Asuna hung her rapier back at her waist.
Usagisawa Misumi did the same, resting a scythe on one shoulder.
