Qi initially possesses an intense sense of superiority rooted in his Angel lineage, talent, and upbringing. He sees himself as a defender of the Angel God's authority and rashly accuses Qin Ming of being a Fallen Spirit Master without evidence. 37 39

His defeat by Qin Ming forces him to confront his arrogance. Rather than remaining hostile, Qi later apologizes publicly before their team battle, distinguishes that apology from his determination to win, and gradually becomes a cooperative friend and rival who treats Qin Ming as someone to catch up to. 44 58

Conflict with Qin Ming

Qi enters the story as a dominant Genius Class student surrounded by fellow inner students. He challenges Qin Ming after accusing him of being a Fallen Spirit Master, relying on his Angel lineage and superior soul power. 37 38

During their duel, Qi uses Holy Light Blade, Holy Light Shield, and Holy Light Silk, but Qin Ming breaks through his defenses and defeats him despite a six-level soul power gap. Qi is severely injured, including the loss of one manifested wing. 39 40

Team Battle and Reconciliation

Before the class championship team battle, Qi publicly admits that his earlier contempt toward Qin Ming was wrong. He still insists on competing seriously, framing the match as a contest rather than a continuation of their personal conflict. 44

Qi's team uses Holy Light Silk to restrain Qin Ming's side, but Bai Heng reflects the technique with Sky Crystal Matrix, giving Qin Ming's team first place. 44 45

Ally of Qin Ming's Group

By the time Qin Ming reaches level 33, Qi has become familiar enough with him to share meals with Qin Ming, Bai Heng, and Hua Lian. Although surprised by Qin Ming's advancement, Qi acknowledges his strength and makes him his personal goal. 58
