Awakening and Measurement

Soul Power is first assessed after Martial Soul awakening. A crystal ball measures the user’s Innate Soul Power, which is treated as an indicator of cultivation potential. Bai Mu begins at Innate Level 1, a result considered extremely poor by Su Yuntao and Yu Xiaogang. 1 4

Children who awaken Soul Power qualify for enrollment at a Junior Soul Master Academy. 1

Meditation and Cultivation

The standard path to increasing Soul Power is meditation cultivation, which strengthens both Soul Power and the user’s meridians. 2

Bai Mu develops the Sunlight Meditation Method after discovering that Zygarde’s Photosynthesis allows him to absorb sunlight and natural energy. The method converts this energy into purified power that combines with and strengthens his Soul Power. 2

• Bai Mu repeatedly adjusts the circulation route through his body, relying on Photosynthesis to recover from the risks of altering his meridians. 2
• At Level 1, Zygarde estimates that Bai Mu’s cultivation pace can produce roughly two new levels—and therefore two new Zygarde Cells—per year. 2
• Each increase in Bai Mu’s Soul Power permits Zygarde to condense one additional cell. 2 5

Spirit Rings and Bottlenecks

Spirit Rings serve three stated functions: breaking cultivation bottlenecks, granting Spirit Skills, and transforming or strengthening the Martial Soul. 7

• Bai Mu reaches Level 10 before obtaining his first Spirit Ring, after which he can become a true Spirit Master. 6
• Continued cultivation at a bottleneck allows Soul Power to accumulate; obtaining a later Spirit Ring can release that stored power in a substantial level increase. 25 30
• Bai Mu’s 5,512-year Second Spirit Ring produces an especially large surge because of his prior accumulation, the Spirit Ring’s energy, and residual medicinal power from the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum. 30 31
• His 12,458-year Third Spirit Ring further strengthens his body and pushes his Soul Power beyond the Level 30 threshold. 36

Soul Power Applications

Spirit Skills

Soul Power fuels Spirit Skills and can be restored through healing effects.

• Jungle Healing restores stamina and Soul Power to Bai Mu, Zygarde, and nearby allies while also healing injuries and abnormal conditions. 12
• Bai Mu and Zygarde can activate Jungle Healing together, doubling its restorative effect and recovering approximately half of their own and their teammates’ stamina and Soul Power. 14
• Zygarde’s continuous full-power healing can sustain a prolonged battle, but the mental strain on Bai Mu remains severe even when Soul Power and stamina are restored. 16

Substitute

Bai Mu’s Second Spirit Skill, Substitute, consumes one-quarter of his maximum Soul Power and stamina to create a highly realistic duplicate. 30

• A Substitute can speak, follow telepathic commands, attack with roughly one-quarter of Bai Mu’s strength, and block damage intended for him. 30
• Soul Power and stamina do not form Bai Mu’s primary limit when creating multiple Substitutes; his Spiritual Power determines how many he can control effectively. 32
• Bai Mu can perfectly control one Substitute, manage two with less precision, and suffers sharply reduced control when attempting more. 32

Zygarde’s Cell Growth

Zygarde’s development is directly tied to Bai Mu’s Soul Power progression.

• Bai Mu’s Level 2 breakthrough produces a new Zygarde Cell. 5
• His Level 10 breakthrough produces the ninth cell, allowing the Core and nine Cells to merge into Zygarde’s 10% Form. 6
• High-quality treasures can accelerate Zygarde’s cell division beyond normal cultivation. The Lovesick Heartbreak Red alone causes it to split twenty new Cells. 22
• Zygarde later has 49 Cells after digesting Immortal Herb power while Bai Mu is at Level 30. 32

Limitations

• Low Innate Soul Power is generally believed to make advancement exceptionally slow; Yu Xiaogang states that an Innate Level 1 Spirit Master would normally struggle even to reach Soul Grand Master. 4
• Spirit Ring absorption requires sufficient physical resilience. Bai Mu deliberately refines Whale Rubber to strengthen his body before attempting a 5,000-year Spirit Ring. 25 26
• Repeated high-output healing can strain the user’s mental state despite restoring Soul Power itself. 16
• Techniques that require simultaneous control, such as multiple Substitutes, are constrained by Spiritual Power rather than raw Soul Power alone. 32
