"Hah... Huh?"
"The ship is moving at full speed? What's Frieza up to?"
Betkas had just woken from a daze. Suddenly seeing the rapidly passing planetary scenery outside the window, he felt a bit puzzled. After looking around, he noticed that Vegeta and Nappa still hadn't returned. He could only rub his hair and then walked toward the door...
"Creak!"
The door opened instantly, and Betkas stepped into the previous medical room. He wanted to check if Vegeta and Nappa were still being treated—otherwise, how could they still be missing after he'd slept?
"Creak!"
The doors slid open, and Betkas walked back in. He found no one else inside except Vegeta and Nappa, still submerged in the tanks. Even the Antenna Alien from before was gone. Betkas stepped forward, staring at the still-unconscious Vegeta and Nappa in the tanks, and muttered to himself: "Still not awake after so long. Just how badly were those two hurt?"
Though Betkas couldn't know what happened afterward, he was certain Vegeta and Nappa had fought a tough battle. Even after turning into Great Apes, wiping out all those Chicks Aliens on the planet would've taken serious effort—exhausting, even. Because Betkas was sure that at the time, neither Vegeta nor Nappa had dared to revert from their Great Ape forms.
After all, the residents on that planet were abnormally fierce in combat power. If they'd reverted and ran into someone with high strength, they might not have made it back at all.
"Speaking of which, where's Frieza rushing off to in such a hurry?"
Betkas walked over to a large screen, glanced at the information displayed, and began to decipher it...
"Emergency notice? Full speed to Planet Feland? What kind of place is this planet, worth Frieza hurrying like this?"
Betkas silently read the universal script on the screen, curious about what place could warrant such action from Frieza. He didn't yet know how dangerous Frieza's destination was—dangerous, that is, for someone as weak as him.
Betkas glanced back at the still-sleeping Vegeta, then slowly walked out the door, muttering: "If Vegeta wakes up, gets a scouter, and finds out I'm stronger than him, he'll probably be pretty pissed... All these years, seeing me train so much, he'll just train even more. This time, I hope it's not too much of a shock... I don't want to end up like Son Goku..."
After stepping out, Betkas headed toward the machine room. On Frieza's spaceship, aside from a few restricted areas, most rooms were open to all, so he didn't worry about punishment. The machine room he was going to was just where some alien mechanics worked. He planned to have some weighted gear made.
He clearly remembered that in the original story, Son Goku and Piccolo wore Weighted Clothing early on while fighting Raditz. When they took it off, their combat power shot up significantly, and it also suppressed the readings on scouters.
He wanted those aliens to make him a combat-ready weighted outfit. One, to train himself. Two, to avoid provoking Vegeta—because who knew how that proud Saiyan would react if he woke up and saw Betkas so much stronger than him? It wouldn't be pretty, that's for sure. Betkas didn't want to fall out with Vegeta now, since they were kin of the same race.
When Betkas reached the machine room, he suddenly heard "Bang! Bang! Bang!" coming from inside. It was very faint, only audible once he entered. Betkas figured they were afraid of disturbing others—if someone got annoyed, they might get killed. So they didn't dare make too much noise. After all, the aliens working here weren't very strong.
"Hm?!"
The moment Betkas walked in, the aliens inside looked tense and turned toward the door. But seeing it was just a kid like Betkas, they relaxed a bit. However, noticing the scouter on his left eye made them nervous—only combat personnel wore scouters, and they were usually strong enough to handle low-level workers like them.
"Make me a set of weighted clothes. About fifty kilograms. How long will it take?"
Betkas didn't bother with pretense. On Frieza's ship, might made right. He wouldn't lower himself to these weaklings. Instead, he pointed rudely at one of the aliens, who looked like a catfish. The other oddly-shaped mechanics trembled nervously.
"Th-this... one hour will be enough..." the catfish alien answered anxiously, afraid of angering Betkas and getting killed. It had happened before—mechanics who refused had been eliminated on the spot. So they didn't dare delay and answered straight away.
Betkas smirked slightly and said, "Then get to it. I want to see that outfit in an hour. Hope you're not lying to me." He then walked to the side, sat down cross-legged, and closed his eyes as if meditating. The other aliens, seeing this, quickly got back to work.
"My body's still too small, not fully developed. Using too heavy weighted clothes would hinder my growth. Fifty kilos is probably my limit for now. Well, I'll try it first and see."
Betkas squinted at the catfish alien preparing materials ahead, thinking to himself. For him, boosting strength was good, but not to excess. Rushing often led to disaster. He didn't want any tragedies—only steady progress could ensure his safety. So he didn't bother asking for a hundred-kilo suit right away. That would probably crush him before he even got used to it.
"The body is the foundation of everything. The revolution isn't over yet—still need to work hard. I'll check the results in an hour. If it doesn't work, I'll swap it out."
