(This chapter features a very "buggy" character's appearance)
"I see. Then you've had a rough time of it, Betkas. Continue with the plan as usual."
"Understood... Lord Frieza!!"
...That was the tail end of the conversation between Betkas and Frieza...
"I managed to fool him after all..."
After cutting the call, Betkas let out a slight sigh of relief and thought to himself. This incident had already caught Frieza's attention, which was within Betkas's expectations. If Frieza hadn't found out, that would have been the strange thing.
And Betkas had already thought up an excuse, one that Frieza couldn't refute.
Betkas didn't want Frieza to know about Broly's existence. If Frieza found out, then his own death, along with Vegeta's and Nappa's, would be imminent.
So he had no choice but to hide Broly's identity and fabricate another existence instead.
That was... the Supreme Kai!!!
Betkas simply explained that while carrying out his long-term infiltration plan as ordered, he encountered someone calling himself the "East Supreme Kai." They took an instant dislike to each other and started fighting, and he was completely outmatched.
Just as he thought he'd be killed, a guy named Majin Buu suddenly appeared. The two fought, and he took the chance to escape while they were distracted. But he was still injured and spent four days recovering.
Only after healing did he make contact...
That was his so-called "report," completely shifting Frieza's attention. Although Frieza was puzzled about how Betkas had survived, because he later learned that there wasn't just one powerful energy signature on that planet.
The very day he left the main control room, another massive energy reaction appeared, which matched the conditions Betkas had fabricated.
This left Frieza unable to find any flaws, because the Supreme Kai did indeed exist, something Frieza was well aware of. It was just that the Supreme Kai was rumored to never meddle in worldly affairs, otherwise there wouldn't be so many "troubles" across the universe.
But what intrigued Frieza even more was the "Majin Buu" that Betkas had reported.
Well... never mind how curious Frieza was; Betkas had "dodged a bullet" for now.
So now he was flying back toward the Green-Haired Youth, because he was curious about what the Green-Haired Youth had called "the thing Saiyans most want to get involved in."
"And as for that bastard Broly... if I ever run into you again, I'll make sure to pay you back in full!"
As Betkas flew, he suddenly recalled the madness and fighting spirit that had flashed in Broly's eyes the second before he escaped the planet's explosion, and it pissed him off.
Being beaten to that state by Broly was the worst he'd suffered since his rebirth. If not for a "miracle" at the last moment, he and Broly's old man would have already been dead.
A thousand thoughts flashed through his mind, but he suppressed them, silently vowing to get even one day.
Just as Betkas finished that thought, the Green-Haired Youth was floating ahead of him, waiting leisurely.
"I'll lead the way. Come!"
The Green-Haired Youth smiled slightly, then turned around. In an instant, he gathered a massive amount of ki, enveloping his entire body like flames, and shot forward like a meteor.
"Hmph, looks like his foundation isn't weak at all!"
Betkas watched the Green-Haired Youth accelerate ahead, a faint smile crossing his face. He clenched his fists, burst out a surge of powerful ki from his body, and chased after him.
The distance between them steadily closed...
"Tch, I guess I really should thank Broly. If he hadn't sent me on another trip to death's door, I probably wouldn't have reached this level. But this guy is even more terrifying. Looks like I've been underestimating him."
Betkas glanced sideways at the Green-Haired Youth, who remained expressionless with a constant smiling squint, and thought to himself.
The two weaved past some giant trees and finally arrived at a cave.
"This is?!"
As Betkas stepped inside and saw the vast space within the cave, he was slightly startled. The area here was probably no smaller than the entire plaza he'd seen in his past life, maybe even larger. It surprised him that such a crude-looking cave could have so much interior space.
"This is... where that lord resides. It's where our planet's guardian god lives."
The Green-Haired Youth said with a smile.
Betkas raised an eyebrow and stared deeper inside with interest.
"Salahir, haven't I told you not to keep running over here?"
Suddenly, from a dark corner, an aged, heavy voice rang out. Betkas immediately looked toward the source and saw an old man with graying black hair sitting there.
His hair was a bit messy, but his eyes carried a sharp, murderous glare that made Betkas's heart pound. When the old man's gaze met his, he felt as if it was like that bastard Broly, or even stronger.
The old man had a cross-shaped scar on his left cheek and wore a bright red headband on his forehead.
But what truly shook Betkas was...
"You're a Saiyan?!!!"
"You're a Saiyan?!!!"
Both of them saw the tails wrapped around each other's waists and exclaimed in unison.
"Light yellow hair... golden pupils... that's right, that's right. You must be the Third Prince, Betkas."
The old man seemed to be recalling something, then suddenly spoke.
"Who are you? There shouldn't be anyone as strong as you among the Saiyans!"
Betkas's expression turned very serious, because the aura the old man casually emitted was terrifying.
Betkas felt a certain certainty in his heart... this old man's strength... had absolutely surpassed Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan, and even Frieza in his perfect form!!
"My name? Heh... maybe it'll sound shocking if I say it... but... the Third Prince probably wouldn't remember someone like me."
The old man seemed to think of something. A bitter smile appeared on his face, and his gaze softened slightly as he thought to himself...
"My name is... Bardock..."
"What!!!"
