Song Qingshu's jaw nearly dropped. Yesterday, he had first been with Mu Wanqing, then hurried to the Korean embassy with Li Qinglu in his arms, and finally spent some time with Wuyunzhu. That made exactly three women. He had never expected Xue Pan's nose to be so sharp that he could tell just by taking a casual sniff.
"Are you a dog or something?" Song Qingshu looked at him with admiration.
"This is your big brother's gift. I'm especially sensitive to women—something you could never envy your way into," Xue Pan said, not offended in the slightest. Instead, he looked thoroughly pleased with himself. "Remember to take me along next time. That scent really gets the imagination going."
Before Song Qingshu could reply, Xue Pan yawned. "No, no, I can't take it anymore. I worked hard all night—I can't hold on."
Too lazy to pay him any attention, Song Qingshu headed outside. He happened to run into Xue Baochai and the Yellow-robed Woman, who were preparing to go to the Qing embassy, so he hurried after them.
"Baoyu, where did you go last night?" Xue Baochai suddenly asked on the way.
Song Qingshu's heart skipped a beat, but he answered without showing it. "I was resting in my room."
The Yellow-robed Woman snorted beside him. "Nonsense. I went to your room last night, and there was no one there."
Song Qingshu froze. "What were you doing in my room in the middle of the night?"
A flash of embarrassment and anger crossed the Yellow-robed Woman's lovely face. She merely snorted, turned her head away, and looked as though she could not be bothered to speak to him.
Xue Baochai spoke softly from the side. "Baoyu, don't go carousing with my brother at night anymore. All kinds of forces have gathered
