The Fu sisters wasted no more words. With a tap of their toes, they lightly flipped over the wall into the Japanese embassy, leaving Song Qingshu alone to stare helplessly at the towering courtyard wall.
Watching their drifting silhouettes vanish into the distance, Song Qingshu grumbled inwardly, Those two sisters are really good at burning bridges once they've crossed them.
"Big Sister, wasn't it a little unkind to leave him behind like that?" Fu Junyu asked rather sheepishly, glancing back.
Fu Junzhuo shook her head. "It's fraught with danger inside. Bringing him in would only harm him."
"Who would've thought that although you're harsh with him, you actually care about him quite a bit?" Fu Junyu teased.
Fu Junzhuo's face reddened slightly. "Don't talk nonsense. I'd care about pigs and dogs before I cared about that libertine."
Fu Junyu looked back again, only to discover in astonishment that Jia Baoyu was nowhere to be seen. "He couldn't have sneaked in, could he?"
"How could that be?" Fu Junzhuo curled her lips disdainfully. "That boy is all talk and terrified of death. Why would he take such a risk?"
Thinking of Jia Baoyu's usual behavior, Fu Junyu could not help but laugh. She felt her sister's description was quite fitting.
"Quiet. Japanese ninjas are quite capable. Don't let them discover us," Fu Junzhuo hurriedly warned.
Remembering her previous clash with Yagyū Jūbei, Fu Junyu did not dare let down her guard in the slightest.
The sisters quietly circled through the embassy, avoiding the guards along the way. Suddenly, they saw a figure dressed as a ninja rushing toward a room. The two exchanged glances and immediately followed.
When the ninja opened the door, Hashiba Hideshige's face flashed briefly through the gap. The sisters rejoiced, knowing they had found the right place.
