Shan Yuru shook her head. "Uncle-Master has never dared to make a move because you fear my Heavenly Demon wondrous arts, hasn't he? If you truly want your niece so badly, then come over yourself."
Zhong Zhongyou could not help licking his lips. Though he knew she was using a Charm Technique, her skill had reached such a subtle, imperceptible level that there was not the slightest sense of incongruity. It was as though a young maiden newly awakened to love were tenderly inviting the man she adored.
Although Zhong Zhongyou's cultivation was somewhat deeper than Shan Yuru's, she was the Cult Master. She surely possessed life-saving methods that only a Cult Master could cultivate, so he did not dare let down his guard.
At this point, Mie Tian Jue Di also caught on. This Evil Buddha Zhong Zhongyou had not come to help Shan Yuru after all. Their hearts settled at once. Seeing him hesitate and refuse to advance, they grew impatient. The Prince had been in an especially foul mood lately; if they failed to complete their mission, they would be in serious trouble.
They waved a hand in signal, and several Mongol warriors quietly slipped into the little temple, brandishing their blades as they hacked at Shan Yuru.
"Didn't you say you were going to protect me?" Shan Yuru neither dodged nor evaded. Instead, she looked pitifully into the warriors' eyes. Their bodies abruptly froze, then they suddenly changed direction and raised their sabers against Zhong Zhongyou.
Zhong Zhongyou snorted coldly and flicked his sleeve. The Mongol warriors silently collapsed before him. Though he had greatly depleted his vital energy after using Heavenly Demon Escape earlier, these warriors were still far beneath his notice.
Shan Yuru giggled. "It seems they all think Uncle-Master means to harm me."
