Song Qingshu had not been in the tent long before a guard came to report, "Water Moon Great Sect Master, the Princess Consort summons you."
"Summons me? What does she want with me?" Song Qingshu was utterly baffled and could not help feeling worried. Could it be that Princess Consort Chabi had known Water Moon Great Sect Master before? It would be disastrous if his cover were exposed.
The guard said impatiently, "How would subordinates like us dare to guess at the Princess Consort's thoughts? Just get over there quickly."
Song Qingshu hesitated, picked up the Water Moon Saber at his side, and followed the guard to Princess Consort Chabi's tent.
"You may not bring weapons when meeting the Princess Consort." At the entrance, the guard reached out to stop him.
Song Qingshu raised his brows and said coldly, "This seat never goes without his saber." Why did they want him to surrender his weapon? Were they planning to ambush him with axemen and swordsmen?
Yet judging by his sense of the surrounding auras, there was no ambush inside the tent.
"Let him enter." Princess Consort Chabi's voice came from within.
Only then did the guard at the entrance cease blocking his way. After Song Qingshu entered, he discovered that the guard had not followed him in. There was no one else in the tent either; Hulagu Khan had presumably returned to his own tent.
Princess Consort Chabi sat high upon her chair, her small boots carelessly resting on the animal hide beneath her feet, making her legs appear even more slender.
Song Qingshu mused to himself that it was truly rare for someone who rode horses for so long not to have bowlegs. Then again, Kublai Khan was one of the most distinguished princes among the Mongol princes. His
