Angle Bow Warriors

Guen's sudden burst of speed caught his enemies completely off guard.

A flurry of punches instantly overwhelmed the two Tier 8 Warriors working together.

"How can he be so fast? It's impossible!"

Guen's tremendous increase in speed left his enemies in despair.

Fools. If you can apply a Force Multiplier to an attack, why can't you use it to increase the speed of other parts of your body? Guen scoffed inwardly.

Their Force Multipliers were low, but at least they could double their force.

That could make quite a difference when applied to speed.

A Force Multiplier was a method and technique for exerting force. If it could be used in a punch, it could be used in a kick, an elbow strike, or a headbutt. It could just as easily be used to run faster.

Attacks could be twice as powerful, and so could speed.

Many Super Tier experts had already grasped this principle. At their level, they had usually developed their bodies in every way, so it was only natural for them to understand.

But for some cultivators below Super Tier, this was a trap caused by the inertia of their thinking.

This was especially common in the Aoyu Empire. Many important cultivation techniques and methods were controlled by powerful factions, leaving ordinary people no chance to learn them. As a result, they never grasped this level of application.

A twofold Force Multiplier was certainly impressive for Tier 8 Warriors on a Natural Planet like this.

But against Guen, it was barely enough.

His teachers were his parents.

One belonged to the Kano people, while the other was a Nord from a branch of the Ape-men.

The Kano people might have been obscure, but the Nord people were no ordinary folk. They were backed by a vast branch of humanity—the Ape-men. Though they were no match for powerful Ape-man branches like the Kahuns, Leiwen, and Githyanki, they had mastered all the Secret Methods and techniques that most humans in the universe were expected to learn.

Kolong couldn't pass on his Tribal Secret Techniques to Guen, but it was only natural for him to teach Guen his approach and some of the techniques he had figured out himself.

That was how Guen could defeat two Tier 8 Warriors while only at Tier 7, even though they wore Diamond-Grade Battle Suits.

On the other side, Chen was barely holding off the Angle Bow Warrior.

Chen was only Tier 6, while his opponent was Tier 8 and wore a Diamond-Grade Battle Suit. Chen's training couldn't compare to Guen's, so managing to hold off the Angle Bow Warrior with his Tier 6 abilities was already impressive.

The Angle Bow Warrior watched Guen dispatch his opponents with one clean punch apiece. His face darkened. He tried to shake Chen off, but couldn't.

Chen was displaying strength beyond that of a mere Tier 6 Warrior.

Guen grinned and rushed over, raising his fist high.

The Angle Bow Warrior's expression turned grave. He struck a strange pose, resting one end of his angle bow on his right shoulder and gripping the other end with his hand. Facing Guen, he held three arrows between the fingers of his left hand, concealed behind his back.

"Bow Fighting Technique?"

Archers were powerful, but only among ordinary people. At the cultivator level, Warriors had formidable close-combat skills, and at higher levels, Artifact Users had even more powerful ranged attacks.

Artifact Users could take to the air by standing on the objects they controlled.

Flight was a privilege of Super Tier experts, and since Artifact Users could achieve it too, they had an innate advantage when fighting ordinary Warriors.

That was why few Warriors trained in archery.

It could give them an edge over ordinary Warriors, but if they couldn't finish off their opponent within two arrows, then once the enemy closed in, archers lost their only advantage.

So Warriors who chose to use bows also trained in a combat technique called Bow Fighting Technique to handle close-quarters battles.

There were many forms of Bow Fighting Technique. The Angle Bow Warrior's style was a conservative one, focused on defense with counterattacks as a secondary measure.

Guen held nothing back and charged straight up to the Angle Bow Warrior. He threw a punch, but the Angle Bow Warrior twisted his waist, making Guen's fist strike the bow's grip. The Angle Bow Warrior's body swayed as he used the impact to retreat.

"Hm?"

Guen was slightly surprised. The Angle Bow Warrior had excellent Body Movement Technique. Though he had only reached the second level of Basic Movement Technique, he had mastered it. He had also applied his Force Multiplier throughout his entire body, which was how he had managed to block Guen's punch with the bow's grip.

The Angle Bow Warrior retreated while nocking and firing arrows.

But with the bow still braced against his arm, they had little power. He was only trying to distract Guen and create an opportunity to put some distance between them.

Close combat was far too dangerous for an archer facing a Warrior with such speed and strength.

As long as I can get some distance, return to where we were, and get back on my mount, I'll be safe, the Angle Bow Warrior thought calmly.

To make fighting easier, they had left their mounts at a distance. Otherwise, the beasts' unusual auras could easily be sensed by other vicious beasts, alerting Guen and Chen. There was another reason, of course: their mounts weren't suited for battle. If they had been, they would have charged in directly, and there would have been no need to lie in ambush.

"Did you forget about me?" Chen charged in from the side.

The Angle Bow Warrior glanced at Chen. How could he have forgotten there was someone else nearby?

But a Tier 6 Warrior could only harass him. Now that he was focused on escaping, there was no way Chen could keep him there.

Chen's Green Hair fluttered. He snapped his fingers.

A shadow fell over the Angle Bow Warrior. He froze for a moment, then looked up.

A Diamond Unicorn swooped down, its enormous wings spreading over him.

"How is this possible? Is he a Beast Tamer? But Beast Tamers are Artifact Users too, and he's been fighting me at close range this whole time." The Angle Bow Warrior was baffled.

Among Artifact Users, there were some unusual specialists who either controlled vicious beasts or created illusions. Though rare, they did exist.

Only Beast Tamers, a branch of Artifact Users, could remotely direct vicious beasts to fight without making a sound or movement.

Unless Chen was a Super Tier expert, he had to follow that ironclad rule. But if he were a Super Tier expert, why would he go to such trouble to deal with him? One slash would have left him unable to fight back.

Chen wasn't an Artifact User or a Super Tier expert, and he hadn't made any extra movements or spoken a word. Yet the Diamond Unicorn had still acted.

"Die!" The Angle Bow Warrior had no time to think. He shot an arrow at the Diamond Unicorn.

A translucent shield made of diamond-shaped panels suddenly appeared around the Diamond Unicorn, blocking the arrow. Then the unicorn slammed into the Angle Bow Warrior and sent him flying.

The unicorn's unique Gemstone Protection could effectively block one attack.

A Diamond Unicorn could block an attack from a High-level Warrior. Using that single chance provided by Gemstone Protection, it slammed the Angle Bow Warrior away.

"Good job." Guen caught up and threw a punch.

The Angle Bow Warrior tried to use the same trick again, but Guen wasn't about to give him the chance. His other fist shot out even faster and struck the Angle Bow Warrior in the chest. He followed up with one punch after another, the tremendous force penetrating the Diamond-Grade Battle Suit and making the Angle Bow Warrior's face twist in pain.

The Diamond-Grade Battle Suit absorbed much of the force. The rest wasn't enough to kill him instantly, but it badly damaged his internal organs.

After only a few punches, the Angle Bow Warrior could no longer resist.

Guen took off his helmet and grabbed him by the back of the neck. "Tell me, who are you people? Why are you targeting us?"

The Angle Bow Warrior gave a feeble smile, his arrogance plain on his face.

"Still putting on an act?" Guen showed him no mercy and snapped his spine.

Chen froze. "You just killed him?"

Guen tossed the Angle Bow Warrior's corpse aside and shrugged. "Interrogating someone is pointless. Besides, I've already figured out more or less where they came from."
