Lantern fish were also called anglerfish. The bulbous growth protruding from the front of their heads was striking, like a lantern. Most people found it amusing.

But in Guen's eyes, it wasn't amusing. It was despair.

Guen gripped the Meteor Light Blade tightly. His chest heaved, then slowly stilled. He stared coldly at the Lantern Fish Sea Beast, which watched him with interest as he struck a desperate pose—and with a trace of anger.

Ferocious beasts possessed great intelligence. This Planet Level 8 Lantern Fish Sea Beast was no less intelligent than a human. Guen's stance could be seen as either tenacious or provocative.

It decided to stop toying with the human and kill him with a single blow. That was entirely possible. Guen had the combat strength of someone around Planet Level 5 or 6, but underwater, the gap widened dramatically.

The hole extended straight down, and seawater was now pouring into it.
