"Eh? A fox immortal's methods?" Jiu Ming asked, somewhat puzzled. Why had Mikage Yuzuki suddenly brought this up when nothing was wrong? "As for whether it's real... I suppose it's possible."
Jiu Ming thought of Ichimokuren, Bone Woman, and that wheel—cough, cough, Wanyudo. They were all bona fide yokai in this world too, so having several fox immortals around was hardly strange, was it?
"Is that so?" Worry appeared on Mikage Yuzuki's face at his words.
"What happened?" Jiu Ming asked, noticing that something was off about her expression.
After thinking for a moment, Mikage Yuzuki told Jiu Ming about what had happened at school. Put simply, a very unusual girl had appeared at her school. People called her the "Fox Immortal," and said that her divinations were incredibly accurate. Recently, however, another method had emerged—one for cursing people.
And her best friend, Akie Takasugi, seemed to be among those who had been cursed...
During lab class, Akie Takasugi had happened to encounter one of these "curse" incidents.
It sounded awfully mysterious.
Jiu Ming rubbed his chin. "Well, isn't this just a coincidence?"
"Of course not! Lots of people have suffered misfortune. Please go take a look." Mikage Yuzuki pleaded with Jiu Ming hopefully. "If this can be resolved, everyone will be able to breathe easier too. Though..."
At that point, she could not help showing a conflicted expression again. She also felt that this was a little too unfair to the student known as the Fox Immortal.
"Mm, I'll go take a look when the time comes. After all, cursing people is really..." Jiu Ming scratched his head. It felt utterly awful. Just what were people's hearts made of? Or was it because of Hell Girl that the darkness in this world was steadily deepening?
