"Don't insult the word 'gentleman' here!" Evangeline glared at Jiu Ming with a kitchen knife dangling from her hand, reaching out to clutch his collar tightly. Yet because of their difference in height, to outsiders it looked as though she were hanging off him. "Hand it over already!! Or I'll turn you into my servant right now!!"
Her two cute little fangs gleamed white beneath the sunlight. Jiu Ming tilted his head, took out a pair of pliers, and hid them behind his back. Vampire teeth and all—if they were pulled out, they should grow back, right?
"...Master."
"Hm? Chachamaru." Releasing Jiu Ming's collar, Evangeline tapped her toe as though nothing had happened just now. "What is it?"
"About the welcome party for Professor Negi."
"That scallion-head... I'm not going!" Evangeline flicked her hand with lofty pride and flatly refused without a second thought.
"Professor Takahata will be going too."
Evangeline frowned. "What a pain... Fine, I understand. I'll go in a while."
After sending off her own doll, Evangeline looked back at Jiu Ming. "What? Are you interested in dolls?"
Her eyes shifted as she spoke. "How about I teach you the techniques of a dollmaker? But you'll have to provide for all my needs without conditions!"
Jiu Ming gave her a rather strange look and pointed toward where Chachamaru had just left. "Um... haven't you ever looked into your doll properly?"
"Chachamaru? What about her? Is it wrong for a doll to obey her master's orders?"
"Uh... fine, forget I said anything." Jiu Ming shook his head. Chachamaru was Evangeline's doll... Well, setting aside the whole doll matter, she was more like a robot. No matter what, Evangeline had spent far longer with Chachamaru than Jiu Ming had, so she should have noticed what was special about her.
