"Did he actually forcefully rein in the shockwave from his attack?"
"Isn't he afraid of dying!?"
Evangeline stared at the scene in stunned disbelief. Powerful as the attack was, what Jiu Ming was doing was practically suicide. Of course, if he could gather the unleashed shockwave back together and use it for a second eruption, its power would absolutely blow the first attack out of the water. But even if someone could do it, very few would dare.
The body simply could not withstand it!
It was like a nuclear bomb. Before it detonated, its casing could contain it, sure—but once it exploded, if all the destructive force from that blast were compressed back inside, could the bomb's original shell still bear it? Don't make her laugh. Even if it were reinforced a hundred times over, it would probably still be as unreliable as paper.
Fighting that way was simply courting death. If nothing unexpected happened, Evangeline could already picture the miserable sight of Jiu Ming's entire body bursting apart after delivering this blow.
"Idiot! Stop right now!! ...Damn it, can't you hear me?!"
Seeing Jiu Ming act as though he had noticed nothing, Evangeline's eye twitched. A technique capable of gathering shockwaves would definitely block out certain things, and sound was surely among the first to be cut off. She swiftly constructed defensive magic before herself.
The enormous "hourglass" rapidly contracted, making Evangeline's eyelid jump. She had a similar technique, but it was absolutely not this unreasonable. That technique also gathered attacks and loaded them onto her body to strengthen herself, even granting her attacks a considerable additional boost. Its only side effect was the need to watch out for the erosion of spirits.
Hopefully this guy was not really stupid enough to do that.
