"Don't worry. She can't possibly be taken away." Jiu Ming shook his head and spread open his palm. An Observation Spirit that had shrunk into a little ball slowly returned to its original shape... Jiu Ming casually placed the Observation Spirit, which had been curled up in his hand, into the water glass beside him.
"Huh? Why did this little thing stay behind?" Kaguya leaned over the table, watching the Observation Spirit inside the glass with some confusion. The tiny spirit stirred faintly in the water. Though the skull-like spots on it looked rather unsettling, no one present was ordinary, so nobody was particularly bothered.
"Uh, maybe it forgot it was supposed to go back. Looks like it can't return for the time being, either." Jiu Ming reached out and poked the Observation Spirit. The portion that had poked its head out of the glass immediately shrank back beneath the water, only cautiously peeking out again after a while.
"It looks fun!" Kaguya copied Jiu Ming and reached out to poke the Observation Spirit, but her finger went straight into the water. "Unfair! Why can't I touch it!?"
The instant she realized she could not touch the Observation Spirit, Kaguya became unhappy.
"Probably has something to do with our constitutions."
