Jiu Ming had not gone so far as to just leave without a word and never reply. After returning, he explained things to his family, saying he might not be back for a few days, then headed back again. Well, it was better to give himself plenty of time. If he finished early and came back ahead of schedule, he could give them a "surprise."
Even if it took longer, he had already told them the timeframe, so they would not worry too much... though when he went back, he ran into Haruhi, who had come over for a visit.
"Hm? There's an event today, and you actually have something to do? You're not just fobbing me off on purpose, are you?" Haruhi narrowed her eyes slightly and stared at Jiu Ming with suspicion. "Can't you put it off?"

"How could I? How about postponing your event for a few days? Or holding a new one next week during the break?"
Jiu Ming knew all about the SOS Brigade's regular weekend activities. He was often dragged along to join them, so he was thoroughly familiar with them.
