"Surely you're not planning to make a delicate young girl like me fight those monsters, are you?" Shokuhou Misaki pointed at an illustration of a classic monster called a slime in the book. "They're all slimy and disgusting!"
"...Aren't there little rabbits?"
Jiu Ming was rather speechless. He had specifically set up several closed beta zones, with monsters that were not especially high-level and came in different varieties. Slimes were one type; scorpions and insects were another; there were little rabbits and chicks as well.
"They're too cute. I can't bring myself to hurt them, okay?"
"What about bugs?"
"Honestly, I can't believe you'd say something like that in front of a girl. Let that brown-haired electric Pikachu deal with the bugs!"
"Tch, little girls really are troublesome." Jiu Ming curled his lip disdainfully. "To put it bluntly, you're just used to ordering people around and too lazy to do it yourself, aren't you?"
Having had her little scheme seen through, Shokuhou Misaki was not annoyed. Instead, she sounded entirely righteous. "Do you really think a beautiful girl like me, who gets out of breath after running a hundred meters, is suited for beating up little monsters?"
"Why not? I remember plenty of movies having scenes like that..."
"Those are just movies. Why aren't there humanoid monsters?"
Shokuhou Misaki spoke with considerable dissatisfaction. The moment Jiu Ming heard that, realization dawned on him and he nodded. So that was the reason. Humanoid monsters? Heh, she had said before that her ability only worked on humans. No wonder her reaction had been so strange earlier.
"I'm telling you, there's really no need. Take those little rabbits, for example. They might be a little more aggressive than ordinary rabbits, but you could kill one with just a few swings of a stick."
